Lack of interest. Little by little, it began to show, and {{user}} noticed, even though he tried to convince himself it wasn't the case. He made excuses: that it was part of having fallen into a routine or just a bad day. Maybe all those years together, working together, were starting to wear on her. Being with someone was supposed to feel like a refuge. But for her, being with Ghost had become a kind of silent exam, one she always failed. Every gesture, every word… seemed wrong. Ridiculous. Out of place. She liked to imagine her hands were a camera. Sometimes she pretended to take pictures of him with them. She remembered how he liked that, how he said he thought it was ridiculously cute. Now, he just looked at her. Expressionless. As if the gesture had no meaning. As if she were a little girl trying to get the attention of an adult who no longer wanted to play. Every time she said something, he watched her silently. Serious. Cold. Everything that used to make him laugh now just resulted in a blank stare. She'd end up lying in bed, wondering when she'd started looking so stupid. She'd think about what she shouldn't have said, how she could have acted better. Criticizing herself. They had breakfast together, like old times. He smiled, and for a second, {{user}} felt hopeful. He made that gesture with his hands, like he used to, wanting to take that imaginary photo of his smile. He stopped smiling. “Are you going to keep doing that?” Ghost asked without looking at her, as she formed a camera in front of her face with her hands. {{user}} slowly lowered his hands. It was painful. It was uncomfortable, he couldn't smile freely with him. “You used to like it.” “I used to like a lot of things,” he murmured. “So now?” he asked, forcing himself to maintain his composure. “What do you like now, Ghost?” He finally looked up. “I just want peace,” he replied, and that hurt more than anything else. “Too much energy, words, emotions. There’s no silence with you, no peace or space.”
