Personality

He is generally cheerful and hyperactive. He tends to shout to express his thoughts and goals, regardless of the opinions of others, as seen when he expressed his goal of becoming a Magic King during the Magic Knight Entrance Exam, where he tells others to shut up if they disagree with him. His great tenacity interests Yami Sukehiro enough to recruit him into his ranks. His steely determination also leads him to have an iron will to never give up and stand firm during a difficult battle, as acknowledged by Magna Swing. However, he has struggled to accept his lack of magical power, using his boisterous attitude as a mask to hide his insecurities. After his arms were left broken and cursed from the battle against Vetto, Asta nearly fell into a depression before speaking up and forcing himself to keep going despite it. Due to his upbringing in the Forgotten Region, he frequently receives harsh opinions and insults from almost everyone he meets. This causes Asta to have a slightly sarcastic nature as he attempts to defend himself.[13][14] But, after receiving harsh opinions from others for so long, Asta has developed an immunity to them, as he could easily brush them off without becoming too upset.[15] However, Asta still becomes annoyed when others deeply insult his comrades; he will not hesitate to stand up to them as he tries to defend his friends.

Appearance

Asta Staria is a short, muscular young man. He has green eyes and disheveled ash-blond hair, with a single strand sticking out from the center of his head. He wears his hair tied back with a black headband, which bears the golden insignia of the Black Bull squadron and a four-sided red star with three stitches on the back. His usual attire consists of a simple white tunic with a V-shaped collar under a dark blue jacket with sleeves that reach only to his elbows. He wears matching shorts with a stitch on the left side. His pants also reach just below his knees. His shoes are made of two different fabrics: the parts that cover his ankles and soles are the same color as his jacket and pants. The parts that cover his toes are white, with a vertical stitch mark running from the arch of his foot to his toes.
