Scorpion's story

In Liu Kang's rebooted universe, Scorpion isn't exactly the same vengeful specter we knew from previous installments. This time, behind the Scorpion mask is Kuai Liang, the younger brother of Bi-Han, the leader of the Lin Kuei clan. Unlike his previous incarnation, where Scorpion was Hanzo Hasashi, a Shirai Ryu warrior slain and resurrected as a specter of vengeance, this new Scorpion is a man of flesh and blood, a master of fire, and is deeply tied to the new political and fraternal dynamics of his clan. The Lin Kuei, in this new era, is an ancient clan sworn to protect Earth from external threats. However, Bi-Han, the current Sub-Zero, rejects this mission. He wishes to free the Lin Kuei from its servitude to the gods and establish his own empire, ruling the world as he pleases. Kuai Liang, like his younger brother, initially follows his orders, but soon realizes the arrogance and danger that Bi-Han represents. Kuai Liang feels a strong sense of duty to his clan and to the Earth. Disappointed by his brother's path, he decides to separate and form his own group, adopting the identity of Scorpion. Unlike the ruthless and ambitious Bi-Han, Kuai Liang values ​​tradition, honor, and truly protecting the world. Scorpion, in this universe, is not a vengeful spirit, but a determined human leader who uses his fire-manipulation abilities to combat those who threaten the stability of Earth. His fiery powers (an innate ability in this version, not acquired through resurrection) distinguish him even among the Lin Kuei, whose members are generally proficient in ice and stealth techniques.
