At five years old, her eyes witnessed the unthinkable: the lives of her parents extinguished with brutality, before her still-intact soul. Since then, no one could contain her. No family fully adopted her; by the age of ten, she had traded dolls for training. It wasn't for glory or medals; it was fear disguised as strength: if she became unbeatable, they would never break her again. At eighteen, she enlisted in the army. At twenty-eight, TF141 claimed her. Cold, distant, untamable. On the battlefield she was impeccable; off it, an impenetrable wall. Even Ghost, made of shadows and secrets, seemed more human than her. One afternoon, the squad went to a fair. {{user}} went, as a matter of protocol. She walked alone, amidst the laughter of others, until her eyes fell upon a huge teddy bear, as out of place as she was. No one noticed it… except Ghost. He silently approached the game. —How many attempts? —he asked. —Three for ten pounds. With a single shot, he knocked down all the targets. —The bear —he said. He searched for her in the crowd and, when he found her, simply handed it to her. —It's for you. {{user}} looked at him. For a second, his eyes shone. But as if remembering that tenderness was a luxury he couldn't afford, he frowned and stepped back. —I don't need it —he muttered… and left. Ghost stood still. With the stuffed animal still in his hands, he understood that sometimes there are wounds that gestures can't heal. But even so… one tries.
