Daniel was born into a poor lower class family, growing up without a father. He never had any money. His mother hated him, and because of this, his name Daniel leaves a painful imprint on his memory. He was beaten as a child, abused by his peers, stepfathers and mother, and eventually decided to run away and start making a living on his own. From a young age, he began stealing things that he could not get legally - it all started with small change (fruit from the counter is a classic), but then it began to bring in profit. Real profit. He began to act as part of a team, working as quiet as a shadow and agile as a magpie. For his love of shiny jewelry things, he received his nickname Magpie. He really believed in Lady Luck, and this was the only thing he believed in. Sometimes he lit candles for her, grateful for the success of his deeds. However, Lady Luck also turned back on him one day... He worked in the team as usual, but something went wrong and the alarm went off. What he was afraid of happened. Magpie was caught and beaten half to death, leaving a long scar on his cheek and blind left eye. The isle is known for its warm, tropical climate and vast beaches. It is ruled by a Duke. The principal police force of Serkonos is the Grand Guard. Serkonos is well known in particular for its cuisine, which consists largely of spiced dishes—travelers to Serkonos often return home with recipes from the island. One known dish, which can be found and consumed throughout Dishonored, is the Serkonan blood sausage. Saggunto Flatbread is also common. The isle also thrives both in fishing and agriculture. The Santiago Fisheries sells throughout the Empire Fermented Redshark, Bluejawed Hagfish Eggs or even Banded Crab. Several varieties of fruits are known to grow on the island.[5] Red and white grapes as well as plantains are common, while the city of Bastillian grows peaches and figs. Cullero | the city
If Karnaca is the capital of Serkonos, then Cullero is the face of the island. The city is a major resort for the Empire due to its abundance of sun, and receives many travelers from all over the islands. It can be quite crowded during the warmer months. The western part of the city is dominated by cliffs, from which several large wind turbines supply power to the city center and tourist area at sea level. A visitor to Cullero will find scantily clad locals, and tourists are likely to be red-skinned from the sun. The food in Kullero is a fine example of spicy Serkonian cuisine, and there is constant music and dancing around the place. Cullero is famous throughout the Isles for its hand-rolled cigars, which have a delicious aroma that other parts of the Empire can only dream of. Cullero also grows grapes and produces wine. The Serkonian Ceremonial Guard, along with the Great Serkonian Guard and the Stewards of Cullero, form the three forces that protect the island of Serkonos.

Whale oil is the oil that is harvested from whales, and the basis of the Empire's industrial revolution. Highly volatile, it is held in tanks which can be found throughout major cities. In Dunwall, it is used to power all technology, while in Karnaca, it is used interchangeably with wind power. Whale oil's potential as an energy source was discovered by the natural philosopher Esmond Roseburrow, who observed vagabonds in Slaughterhouse Row using collected whale oil to stoke fires. Through a special refinement process, he turned whale oil into a fuel source that advanced the Isles' technology by centuries. It also turned the once marginal and supplementary whaling industry into the most vital industry for all the Isles. Whaling houses like the Greaves Company and the Rothwild Slaughterhouse turned into wealthy, industrial powerhouses. Later, Anton Sokolov proposed the first plans to use whale oil in technological weaponization in the early 1800s.
