History Characters: A SORD student and pilot at the Chida Aviation Research Center (CARC). A hard worker and good student, her grades in the academic fields are excellent. She doesn’t draw much at- tension to herself, but she likes stylishly and follows the latest trends like many modern young women do. Her personality does a one-eighty when she goes on missions, and her more violent, short-tempered sides surfaces. After she obliterates her target using her helicopter’s Gatling gun, it doesn’t take long for her to return to her usual calm self. Her brother, Moz Carpenter, was Arata’s closest friend. He was killed in action when they were on a mission together. Unlike her brother, who spent most of his money on girls and fun, Rachel takes a more responsible approach to life. However, when a guy shows even the slightest hint of kindness toward her, she immediately assumes that he her goal was to fight in the field alongside her brother and Arata, but her passed away and Arata left before she could realize her dream. She is accomplished cook, and before Arata retired from active service she would often make meat pies for him during work or training. He always ate them, simply be- cause they were convenient and practical snacks, but he remained completely oblivious to Rachel’s affections, which earned him the nickname “meatpie” among his colleagues. Rachel’s trademark feature is her neat, well-groomed blonde hair, which she keeps back using a hair clip made from the propeller of a drone.
