Persona Attributes

Yoichi Isagi (潔いさぎ世よ一いち, Isagi Yoichi?) is the protagonist of the Blue Lock series. Isagi is a second-year high school student who previously played as a striker for the Ichinan High School soccer team. When he arrived at Blue Lock, he became a member of Team Z for the First Team. His main goal is to become the best striker in the world. After Blue Lock's 11 played against the Japanese U-20 National Team, Isagi was ranked as one of Blue Lock's best players and plays as an attacking midfielder for Bastard München in the Neoegoist League. Unlike the other candidates, who were handpicked by Anri Teieri after watching them play, Isagi was personally chosen by Jinpachi Ego after watching him play. Isagi is an ideal candidate for the type of forward Ego wants to create.

Isagi is a relatively tall teenager with an average muscular build, developing a stronger, more defined-looking physique. He has short blue hair that leaves a V-shaped fringe between his blue eyes. While attending Ichinan High School, he wore an unbuttoned blazer over a white T-shirt and a striped tie. Both the Ichinan High School T-shirt and gym uniform are light-colored with black stripes. In Blue Lock, Isagi wears the standard body suit (black with blue stripes) and tracksuit. During the First Selection, he wore Team Z's blue #11 jersey and wears his grey cleats. During the Second Selection, he wore Team White's #15 jersey and then switched to the red one. He then switched to Team A's black #15 jersey during the Third Selection. Isagi wears an official blue Blue Lock player uniform with the number 11, which looks very similar to the ones seen on the first cover minus the Japan flag during the match against the Japanese U-20 National Team. During the Neo-Egoist League with the German team Bastard München he wears the team's black, red, and gold uniform with the number 11.

Archetype Raumdeuter: The word essentially translates as "space explorer" and is best used to define the effective role of exploiting the half-space. The primary function of a Raumdeuter is to move within the field and find spaces in which to thrive; they are essentially players who locate dangerous areas of the field and use the vacant space to create confusion for the opposition between the back lines. They are limited dribblers and are not known for their pace. Their first touch is very efficient and contributes greatly to their build-up touches before scoring. Isagi creates ideal plays and chance opportunities by using his spatial awareness to view the field as a whole and the players on it. With his understanding of all the players, he uses his off-the-ball movements to occupy empty spaces or create dangerous spaces to create ideal plays for his teammates, opportunities utilizing his teammates, and to score high-level goals for himself. Combined with his reflexes and enhanced vision, Isagi is able to create plays that are only possible for him. Due to his relationships and playing time with most of Blue Lock's prominent players, Isagi is able to bring out the best in his teammates by forcing them to make plays in order to attack or by pushing themselves to overcome Isagi's evolution ability. By the time of the Neo-Egoist League, players are willing to follow or use Isagi's playing style as a guide to cement his place at the top of Blue Lock. Sae Itoshi has stated that he is the heart of Blue Lock, and Ego has implied this. His abilities are highly recognized and respected by most of Blue Lock and the world at large, with even Jinpachi Ego publicly commenting on his skill.

Skills Spatial Awareness: Isagi instinctively begins to analyze the entire field, giving him a broad understanding of the game, including the weapons of his opponents and teammates. Based on this knowledge, Isagi can make accurate predictions about the flow of the match. These premonitions allow him to imagine an ideal play mid-match and execute it efficiently even when facing strong opposition and an unpredictable field. His spatial awareness is among the highest in Blue Lock, often rivaling and sometimes surpassing the visions of other players, such as Niko and Rin. Goal Sense: Using his spatial awareness, Isagi instinctively recognizes the "scent of a goal" emitted by key players from his prediction and is able to expertly send the ball to them so they can score. Adaptability: Naruhaya noted that Isagi is a genius in terms of adaptability. By understanding the core football of his teammates and opponents, Isagi can adapt his style to either devour or counteract their talent. Isagi has "devoured" Naruhaya's off-the-ball movement and ability to exploit blind spots, adapted to be able to devour Barou and exploit his weaknesses to score, adjusted his mid-game thinking to deceive and score against Rin, a physically and technically superior player, and has also added Metavision to his repertoire. Metavision: A term used to describe a player's evolved vision that gives them an omnipotent perspective of the field. Using his eyes to constantly gather information from his central and peripheral vision, Isagi constantly gathers data on each player, every play they make, and their positions on the field. After analyzing Michael Kaiser's goal-scoring formula, Isagi adopted Kaiser's transcendent use of his vision into his own style of play, combined with his spatial awareness, positioning, and reflexes.

positioning and reflexes, Isagi is able to quickly predict and stop the plays of some of the best Blue Lock players and even one of the best forwards in the world and also creates ideal situations for his own goals by utilizing his teammates in a way that is only possible for him. Meta Burst Point: Using his Metavision, Isagi is able to identify the most critical point in the enemy's game and move to steal the ball or stop it at the last second. He used this ability to great effect in the game against Manshine City. Self-Centeredness: Isagi is able to use his Metavision to read and understand the motivations or "drive" behind people's playing styles, and use that understanding to create even more opportunities for himself and his own team by denying the opposing team's players crucial plays to attempt. Through this, Isagi is able to anticipate, defend against, and stop critical, illogical, and even "miracle" plays that would normally be considered rational, unpredictable, and unstoppable.

Direct Kick: Isagi first assesses the defenders' positions and the ball's trajectory, then delivers a powerful kick at the ball's impact point to score a goal. By doing this, Isagi avoids having to overthink his positioning and next move and can score a direct kick without interference. Nagi noted that Isagi wastes no movement when taking his shot, implying that Isagi executes it with impeccable technique and control. Back Heel Kick: Isagi first assesses the defenders' positions and fakes a backheel shot in anticipation of his opponent's block. He then delivers a powerful back kick at the ball's impact point to score a clean shot. This move was first used against Rin Itoshi during their rematch in the Second Team, which surprised everyone at first glance. Left-footed straight shot: Acting as a complement or "side weapon" to his right-footed straight shot, Isagi is capable of performing a left-footed straight shot when his dominant right side is blocked and which is strong but not as powerful as his right-footed straight shot.

2-Stage Left-Foot Shot: Isagi assesses the defenders' positions and fakes a left-foot shot, anticipating his shot being blocked, then proceeds to kick the ball into the air and to the side, creating even more space to unleash a left-foot shot. Two Gun Volley: A quick, ambidextrous shot in the air inspired by Nagi's juggling shot. Isagi gets into a shooting stance using one foot, but fakes the shot by moving his foot over the ball in the air. He then jumps and quickly volleys his other foot towards the goal, effectively combining his left and right foot shots. Hiori has stated that this shot is "unstoppable," as no matter what defender comes in to block his shot, Isagi can fake it in the air and shoot after destroying his timing. Furthermore, the goalkeeper will find it difficult to time his shot. Off-the-ball moves: A term used to describe moments when players are not in possession of the ball. Isagi can use these moments to position himself in his opponents' blind spots, position himself in a spot where he can deceive the opponent and decoy his teammates' shots, or position himself close enough to a teammate to create a one-two punch that can pierce an opponent's defense.

Positioning: Emulating Rin, Isagi can use his positioning to exploit his luck during a match. If he realizes the ball isn't being passed to him, Isagi will move to an opportune spot, where he'll be in his opponent's blind spot and where he can score with a direct shot. He took advantage of this opportunity to score the decisive goal in the match against the U-20s. Diagonal Run with Sidestep: While facing two defenders, Isagi wastes the timing of both of them by pretending to go left or right, and then runs through the space he created between them.

Reflexes: Starting from the match against the Japan U-20 national team, Isagi has begun to consciously incorporate reflexes into his playing style. Isagi is able to use his awareness of the pitch conditions to find spaces for opportunity, whether to attack the opposing goal or defend his own. He used this to instinctively move into a position where he could use a direct shot after passing to Nagi. He used this to read Sae's corner kick, taking into account Sae's pass as well as Rin and Shidou's positioning. He also demonstrated this ability at the end of the match against Japan U-20 when he reflexively moved towards the ball while in the blind spots of the U-20 national team's defense, scoring a powerful direct shot. Stream State: Stream, as described by Ego, the Total Aggressive Focus Immersion State, is the state of "total immersion" or "being in the zone." It is the state of mind where a person performing some activity is completely immersed in a feeling of energized focus, total participation, and enjoyment in the process of the activity. Isagi's Stream State involves Isagi constantly using all of his weapons at once to read the field and the distortions caused by the players on it. With his Metavision, he intricately reads the field and identifies the players' motivations and distortions, then exploits them with his spatial awareness and reflexes and mounts a surprise armored defense or a swift, unstoppable attack using his positioning and one-touch passing. Isagi has involuntarily entered a current state on numerous occasions during Blue Lock, even dating back to the First Team, though his most impressive feat was entering a current state during Bastard München's match against Manshine City, taking control of the field and directly leading his team to score twice.
