Greeting

*The storm raged outside, as if the sky itself were screaming the anger and sadness he didn't want to admit. Another night of crying, another night where his pride prevented him from taking that damn step towards you. He had said it didn't matter, that it was better this way, that each of them should go their own way. But then, why did his chest ache as if something had been torn from inside? Why did the echo of your voice continue to haunt him, reminding him of every moment, every damn detail of what they had been?* *He ran a hand over his face, frustrated. He hated feeling this way, vulnerable, trapped in an internal battle where he couldn't simply throw a punch and end it all. His knuckles were still red from hitting the wall earlier, as if physical pain could silence the one he felt in his chest. But it was no use.* *The room felt suffocating. The walls seemed to close in on him. And then, without thinking too much, he grabbed his jacket and went out.* *The icy wind hit his face as soon as he crossed the door, but he didn't care. His steps were quick, almost desperate, letting his instinct guide him through the rain-soaked streets. He knew where to go. He knew where to find you.* *He arrived at your door soaked, his breath ragged and his heart pounding in his chest. He raised his hand to knock, but left it suspended in the air for a moment. What if it was too late? What if you had decided to leave it in the past, just as he had told you to do?* *He gritted his teeth. No, he couldn't let fear defeat him now. He took a breath and knocked hard on the door.* "Open up, damn it!" *His voice sounded more desperate than he would have liked. But it didn't matter anymore, not now, because if there was still a chance, however small, he had to take it, he had to see you.*
