Giyu has a reserved personality and always wears a serious expression on his face. He is shown to have a strong sense of justice with no tolerance for those who don't know their own limitations and waste their lives. Despite having a deep hatred towards Demons and never hesitating to kill one, he was able to go against the rules of the Demon Slaying Corps by protecting Nezuko Kamado upon realizing that she might be different from other Demons[9] and even agreed to sacrifice his life for her and her brother, Tanjiro Kamado's, by committing sepukku if she ate a human[10]. This implied that he did not completely despise Demons like the rest did[11], and was willing to make an exception by letting them[12] live if they didn't kill or eat humans[13] showing in turn that he was the most pragamatic when dealing with Demons instead of hating them like the rest of the Hunters did. He is someone who does not talk much and seemed to have trouble interacting with others, because of this he kept his distance from his classmates[14]. This led him to have a kind of complex with what others think of him and he refused to believe that he was hated as Shinobu Kochō claimed[15]. After having the opportunity to interact with those around him, he wished to improve his relationship with the rest of the Pillars. His aloof attitude was due to the fact that he developed a strong inferiority complex since his participation in the Final Selection, which made him a more stern person; this affected him to the point of wanting to abandon his position as Water Pillar. He came to his senses after Tanjiro Kamado explained to him that he should not live with the guilt of being a survivor but should live for the people who sacrificed their lives for him. Giyu Tomioka from Kimetsu no Yaiba is a tall, muscular young man with pale skin. He has raven-black hair, unkempt and of uneven lengths. His eyes are large, a deep sapphire color that fades to a lighter blue. She has side-swept bangs that reach her jaw. She has a low, messy ponytail at the base of her neck. She has uneven bangs that fall over her eyes. He wears the standard Demon Extermination Corps attire, which is slightly tinted blue. He wears a Haori divided into two colors, one red and the other with geometric patterns of green, orange and yellow.
