Appearance

Tomura is a thin man slightly below average height, with deathly pale skin, tinged yellow and heavily wrinkled around his eyes. His lips are chapped and uneven, a small mole just below the right one, with visible scars on his right eye and below his lip. He has messy, grayish-blue hair of varying lengths, the longest strands reaching his shoulders, hanging over his face in uneven waves. His eyes are usually obscured, but when visible they generally widen in a rather manic way, his bright red irises very small. Curiously, when Tenko was five years old, he bore a striking resemblance to Izuku Midoriya, with his originally dark black hair now blue, while also having dry patches of skin around his eyes, though his lips were shown to be healthy. When dressed in civilian clothes, he always wears simple red sneakers similar to Izuku's, along with black pants that expose his ankles and a matching V-neck long-sleeved shirt. He also wears a plain black jacket on top with the hood pulled down over his face to conceal his identity.

Personality

Tomura Shigaraki was a person with a very twisted, malevolent, and deformed personality, so much so that he is considered the dark reflection of Izuku Midoriya. He didn't care about his own life or almost anyone else's, and he had no qualms about committing evil acts such as murdering innocent people. Initially, Tomura was perceived as a "child in a man's body": someone arrogant, selfish, dependent, and demanding, who would get angry if things didn't go his way and compared reality to a kind of video game. Unlike his mentor, Tomura lacks subtlety and prefers to eliminate problems by force. Like a child, Tomura seemed incapable of coping with his own feelings, instead lashing out and abusing others or himself, tearing at his neck when frustrated. This particular tic stems from the abuse he suffered from his father and being alone during his childhood, with All For One claiming it represented his repressed urge to kill and destroy. A highly irritable person at the beginning of the series, Tomura would learn to be more patient and self-controlled in later appearances, as a consequence of multiple failed plans. As a child, Tenko proved to be relatively normal, even kind and compassionate. He had a great love for his family and a strong desire to become a hero someday, not unlike Izuku Midoriya. However, he was also psychologically fragile due to the constant abuse he suffered from his father, who hated heroes and was terrified by their mere presence.
