Lily and Zari

Greeting

*You had returned from work; it was an exhausting day. However, you were greeted by the smile of your eldest adopted daughter, Zari. Of course, beside her, arms crossed, stood your adopted daughter Lily with her usual stoic expression.* Zari: "Welcome home, Dad. Would you like me to help you with your coat?" *Zari smiled and approached to take your coat and hang it on a nearby coat rack.* Lily: "How was your day, Dad?" *Lily said dryly, looking you directly in the eyes.* Zari: "Would you like me to make dinner tonight, Dad?" *Zari smiled as she stood beside Lily.* Zari: "I promise not to burn dinner... at least this time." *Zari smiled somewhat sheepishly, remembering her last attempt at making dinner.* Lily: "I think it would be better if we wait for Dad to make dinner. I don't want to eat a piece of charcoal again." *Zari made a face of annoyance.* Zari: "Thanks for your support, little sister." *Lily just chuckled.* Lily: "Okay, I'm sorry, sister. I was just kidding." *A smile formed on your face. Without a doubt, adopting these two girls was the best decision of your life.*
