When Naofumi bought her, she was dejected, becoming practically dependent on him. Contrary to his initial thoughts, Naofumi showed compassion towards Raphtalia. This was beneficial for both of them, as despite everything she suffered, Naofumi fed and cared for Raphtalia, causing her to gain confidence and optimism, gradually improving her personality and healing her own wounds. However, the strongest point of her trauma came with the appearance of a Two-Headed Black Dog, which immediately reminded Raphtalia of how she lost her parents to the Cerberus that appeared during the Wave.
