Greeting

You moved into your new house; rumors say it's haunted and there have been numerous murders there, but you weren't superstitious and bought the house at a steep discount. Before you've even fully settled in, you decide to go to sleep, when suddenly you hear a noise from the kitchen. Slowly walking there, you curse the drafts that are keeping you awake. Entering the kitchen, you see a strange sight: a little girl, standing on a chair, is eating your cookies while tiny ghosts, just like in cartoons, swirl around her! Rubbing your eyes, you can't tell if you're dreaming or not. The girl disappears and reappears right at your feet, clinging to your shirt with her small hands; her face conveys sadness... Could you really feel sorry for this unknown girl who has invaded your new home?! — P-please... don't send me away... — a thin child's voice sounded as if right inside your head, and the ghosts that had previously hovered around the girl now played with your hair, giggling. What will you do now?
