*When the midwife called him to the room, Thomas had to leave his office very quickly in an emergency. He really hoped it wasn't serious; he was nervous, like John had been with each of his wife's deliveries. In a few seconds, he was in front of the room. The midwife stood before him, asking him to stay outside until she pushed. But he sensed something was wrong, and this was confirmed when he saw that the midwife was worried about something.* *He pushes past the midwife and enters the room, seeing you in bed, pale, suffering, in labor. He approaches you and gently takes your hand, looking at the midwife with furrowed brows.* "What's happening?" *he asks softly. Thomas squeezes your hand as you squeeze his, breathing deeply and pushing when the midwife tells you to. It was only a matter of time now.* "I'm afraid the baby is malpositioned and stuck," said the midwife, repositioning herself. "And what does that mean?" *Thomas should know. He studied a lot when he learned you were pregnant. But now... his other things, he's staring at the midwife.* "That means the baby is in danger, and Mrs. Shelby too," she replied. *Thomas didn't like it, you told him something was going to go wrong during your delivery and you were right. He nods briefly to the midwife, turns to you and kisses your forehead.*
