Minecraft

Minecraft is an open-world, sandbox, and other video game developed and published by Swedish developer Markus Persson (commonly known as "Notch") and later by Mojang Studios (now part of Microsoft).[19][20] It is developed in the Java programming language[21] for the Java Edition version and later in C++ for the Bedrock Edition version.[22] It was released on May 17, 2009, and after numerous changes, its first stable version "1.0" was published on November 18, 2011. A month before the release of its full version, a version for mobile devices called Minecraft: Pocket Edition was released for Android,[23] and on November 17 of the same year the same version was released for iOS, although this would later become Minecraft: Bedrock Edition.[24][25] On May 9, 2012, the version of the game for Xbox 360 and PS3 was released. All versions of Minecraft receive constant updates since its launch. In October 2014, Minecraft launched its edition for PlayStation Vita,[26] developed by Mojang and 4J Studios. This version presents the same updates and similar features as the other console versions; in addition, it has the cross-selling system, meaning that when you buy the PlayStation 3 version you also get the PlayStation Vita version. As of March 2024, more than 300 million copies had been sold, making it currently the best-selling video game in history.[27][28] On September 15, 2014, it was acquired by Microsoft for US$2.5 billion. This led to the departure of Markus Persson from the company.[28] In November 2016, Microsoft announced the release of the full version of Minecraft: Education Edition.[29]

Minecraft game modes

Survival Survival mode is based on real life combined with a bit of fantasy and is about surviving the attacks of the many creatures that emerge in the darkness or at night.[47] The maximum stamina that the characters have is 10 hearts (20 health points). In this mode the tools, weapons and armor are used up with use. Creative Creative mode focuses entirely on the free-form building aspect. Players possess an unlimited supply of all blocks and objects in the game,[48] which they can place and destroy instantly. Additionally, they are not attacked by monsters, are immune to all damage (though they can be killed by falling in Java Edition, or by using the /kill command), and can fly freely around the map. Blocks cannot be broken while holding a sword in this mode, to prevent destruction of the environment when the player hits or attacks. Extreme Hardcore mode is identical to Survival mode, except that after the player dies they can no longer be revived and the difficulty is set to Hard.[49][50] Viewer Spectator mode allows players to fly through blocks and view the world without interacting with it. In this mode, the quickbar becomes a menu that allows the player to teleport to other players in the match. It is also possible to view from the point of view of another player or creature.[51] Adventure Adventure mode is intended for players who create maps for users who wish to play online or solo. This game mode is based on the following criteria, which affect the player in different ways:[47] The player can only break a block if he has the right tool, and it is programmed with commands so that it can be broken. If the map creator sets it this way, the difficulty cannot be modified.

Minecraft Creature Facts

They generate in a variety of ways, with most creatures appearing naturally, depending on the light level, biome, and environment. For example, most animals are found in bright areas of the surface, while hostile monsters are commonly found in darkness (whether in a cave, dungeon, mansion, or at night). Animals generally spawn after chunk generation, while hostile monsters appear and disappear in certain radii around the player. Some creatures, including passive and neutral animals, and even hoglins, have the ability to be bred by the player, creating offspring. Villagers also spawn randomly depending on the time of day and the number of beds (though the player cannot breed them directly). They never spawn on transparent blocks, in water (except fish, dolphins, turtles and other aquatic creatures), in lava (except lavagants) or in bedrock and in blocks less than a full block tall (such as bottom-positioned slabs, buttons, beds, torches, levers, fences, fence gates, etc.). A creature spawner allows creatures to appear on any block within its spawn area. Additionally, some creatures, such as the iron golem, the snow golem, or the wither, can be built and revived, as is the case with the ender dragon. Many creatures despawn (cease to exist) after a certain amount of time if they are far enough away from the player. In Java Edition, most passive creatures do not despawn, while most hostile ones do. In Bedrock Edition, almost all passive or hostile creatures despawn.

Minecraft Creature Facts

Mobs are affected by their environment in the same way as the player; they are subject to physics and can be harmed by the same things that harm the player (catching fire, falling, drowning, being attacked with weapons, the /kill command, etc.). Some mobs may be resistant or immune to certain hazards, such as some Nether creatures, which are immune to fire. All aquatic mobs, except dolphins, are immune to drowning. Mobs can ride minecarts, and other mobs can climb ladders. When mobs die, they turn to dust and drop items that can be useful resources. Each mob type in Minecraft has a specific AI (artificial intelligence) system with different behaviors and mechanics. Mobs typically wander randomly if there is a player within 32 blocks and generally avoid walking outside of blocks high enough to cause fall damage. Many mobs have an advanced pathfinding system that allows them to walk through obstacles to reach the desired object or destination. Passive creatures flee in random directions after being hit, while hostile creatures engage and chase/attack the player as soon as the player approaches. Neutral creatures remain neutral until provoked by a player or creature (usually by attacking), at which point the neutral creature becomes hostile and attacks the entity that hit it. Most creatures are aware of players within 16 blocks of them, but some can see farther. Conversely, most creatures can be heard by players up to 16 (spherical) blocks away. Creatures are harmless to players in Creative mode. Most creatures cannot see through most solid blocks, including solid blocks.

These creatures are damaged by potions of healing, cured by potions of damage, and are immune to drowning (except zombies and desert zombies) and poison damage. Zombies, zombie villagers, drowned people, skeletons, frost skeletons, and ghosts burn when in direct sunlight, unless they are touching water or wearing a helmet. Under the effect of a potion of fire resistance, creatures do not burn.

They take extra damage from tridents enchanted with Impale, (Java only) and it does not cause the pufferfish to inflate or take damage. All water creatures except dolphins are immune to drowning, and all except guardians, elder guardians, and turtles take suffocation damage if they are out of water for too long. Water creatures have the ability to swim, while others simply float in the water or sink.

atropados

This group consists of creatures based on arthropods, including: EntitySprite bee.png: A Minecraft sprite of a bee that connects the BeeBees, EntitySprite cave-spider.png: A Minecraft sprite of a cave-spider that connects the Cave SpiderCave Spiders, EntitySprite endermite.png: A Minecraft sprite of an endermite that connects the EndermiteEndermites, EntitySprite silverfish.png: A Minecraft sprite of a silverfish that connects the SilverfishSilverfish, and EntitySprite spider.png: A Minecraft sprite of a spider that connects the SpiderSpiders. They take bonus damage and IV slow when attacked with weapons enchanted with Nightmare from arthropods. Both types of spiders are immune to poison effects. Silverfish infest blocks.

Passive creatures

Passives. Passive creatures are those that do not attack the player directly, even when provoked or attacked. Neutral creatures

Neutrals. Neutral creatures are creatures that can be sometimes passive and sometimes hostile toward the player. Many become hostile when first attacked, but others can be naturally hostile and then become passive under certain conditions. Goats randomly attack non-moving entities every so often, but do not act hostile if attacked, so they are placed in this group due to this behavior. Bosses. Boss creatures are special hostile creatures that are more dangerous and powerful than other creatures. They don't spawn randomly and are intentionally fought. They also have a boss bar with their name and health. Enderdragon's Face Enderdragon Wither Face
