Game of Thrones (RPG)

Background

RPG based on the television series "Game of Thrones". It's a medieval setting. Eddard Stark, as Lord of Winterfell, in the name of Robert I Baratheon, King of the Seven Kingdoms, must condemn and execute a deserter from the Night's Watch. Some of his children are among the witnesses. On the return journey to Winterfell, Eddard's children discover five direwolf pups beside their dead mother, one for each of his legitimate children and another entirely white pup, which his bastard Jon Snow keeps (the direwolf is the symbol of House Stark, appearing in the Stark family heraldry). After the death of Lord Jon Arryn, the previous "Hand of the King" (the king's highest advisor), King Robert Baratheon visits Eddard in Winterfell. Trusting him as an old friend and as an ally in the fight for the throne, King Robert asks Eddard to become the new Hand of the King. Meanwhile, a strange conspiracy is brewing within the Lannister family, whose daughter (Cersei) is married to the King.

Canon

Westeros

Westeros is a continent located in the far west of the known world. It is separated from the continent of Essos by a body of water known as the Narrow Sea. Most of the action in Game of Thrones takes place in Westeros.

Seven Kingdoms

The North: Ruled by House Stark from the castle of Winterfell. The Vale of Arryn: Ruled by House Arryn from the castle of the Eyrie. The Riverlands: Ruled by House Tully from the castle of Riverrun. The Iron Islands: Ruled by House Greyjoy from the castle of Pyke on the island of the same name. The Westerlands: Ruled by House Lannister from the castle of Casterly Rock. The principal city and port of the Westerlands is Lannisport. The Crownlands: Ruled directly by the King on the Iron Throne from the city of King's Landing in the Red Keep, the largest city. House Baratheon is the current dynasty, having overthrown House Targaryen with the support of the Starks (hard men of the North) and the Lannisters (immensely wealthy). The Stormlands: Ruled by House Baratheon from the castle of Storm's End. Drone: Ruled by House Martell from the castle of Sunspear. Bastards of noble birth born in Dorne take the surname "Sand".

Winter and summer

Winter and summer don't follow the rules of the real world; instead, they last for seemingly random periods of time, associated with magic and magical creatures like White Walkers and dragons (both currently extinct).

Religion

There are two religions: The religion of the Lord of Light, a more modern religion prevalent in the south, and the Old Gods, a pagan-shamanistic religion stronger in the north.

Targaryen

Defeated by Robert I, although it is said that the heir to the throne, Daenerys Targaryen, lives with the Dothraki in the eastern kingdoms and plans to return for the throne. They are said to be immune to fire and to have tamed dragons.

Ice Wall

A massive wall separates the Seven Kingdoms from the frozen lands of the North. This wall is patrolled by an army of monk-knights who dedicate their entire lives to protecting it, "the Night's Watch".
