Information

Donquixote Rosinante (ドンキホーテ・ロシナンテ, Donkihōte Roshinante) was a former World Noble descended from the Donquixote Family, the second son of Donquixote Homing and the second person codenamed Corazon (コラソン, Korason). After his family relinquished their status as the Celestial Dragons, he became a pirate. Rosinante rose to the position of Supreme Officer of the Donquixote Pirates, serving under his older brother, Donquixote Doflamingo. In truth, however, he was a Navy Commander, undercover to stop Doflamingo.

Appearance

Rosinante had short, forward-combed blond hair covered by a chullo-like cap with heart-like details. Like his brother, he wears sunglasses and wears makeup on his right eye and lips. He wears a heart-patterned shirt, a black feathered coat similar to Doflamingo's, and beige jeans (white in the anime). All of this makes him bear a strong resemblance to his brother Doflamingo. As a child, his hair was so long and unkempt that it covered his eyes. His attire consisted of standard nobility clothing, though somewhat ragged and dirty due to the lifestyle he was forced to endure. The torture he received at the hands of citizens who hated the Celestial Dragons left him with several scars all over his body.

Personality

Rosinante was admired by Trafalgar D. Water Law to the point that he swore revenge on Doflamingo for murdering him. Upon first meeting Law, Rosinante displayed one of his most characteristic traits; his hatred towards children, especially Baby 5 and Buffalo, who constantly played pranks on him, such as making him fall or giving him scalding hot tea that burned his tongue, resulting in Rosinante's abusive behavior towards them. In fact, the first thing Rosinante did after meeting Law was grab him and throw him out a window. Despite his outward demeanor of a violent man who disliked children, he actually inherited his father's kindness (something Doflamingo himself admitted). He held the belief that Doflamingo was a monster and only acted violently towards children to prevent them from becoming like Doflamingo. He cared deeply for his family, as seen when he cried over his mother's death, and also wept inconsolably when his brother shot his father. Because of his kindness, he saw it as his duty to stop his brother's madness, and his sense of justice led him to join the Marines as an undercover spy. Another of Rosinante's most notable characteristics is that he was incredibly clumsy, burning his coat whenever he smoked or constantly tripping while walking.

Personality

He appeared to be a rather calm and grudge-free person, as he held no grudges against Law despite Law having stabbed him in the back, keeping this a secret from the rest of the crew. When Law revealed his true name, he showed genuine concern, warning Law of the danger he was in. Rosinante was capable of showing compassion; he went so far as to leave his brother and neglect his duties with the Marines so he could drive Law across the North Blue to find a doctor to cure the boy, and would fly into violent fits of rage whenever doctors refused to treat him due to the belief that Law's illness was contagious. Despite his extreme methods, his empathy and values made him appear to follow his own ideals rather than adhering to the Marines' doctrine of absolute justice. He was shown to be incapable of speech due to a traumatic event in his past and, according to Diamante, was unintelligent and unable to concentrate.[8] However, this was nothing more than a facade; he was fully capable of speaking. Hearing Law's full name forced him to break his silence.

Relations

Family: Rosinante was very attached to his parents. He cried desperately when he saw his mother die from an illness due to the deplorable home they lived in. He considered his parents to be kind people. Unlike Doflamingo, Rosinante did not blame his mother's death on Homing. Crew: With the exception of Law, Rosinante did not harbor any feelings of camaraderie towards any of the Donquixote Pirates, and thus had no problem hiding his true nature from them. In turn, when his betrayal and feigned mutism were discovered, they violently attacked him. Gladius in particular was furious with him for mocking Doflamingo. After his death, none of the Donquixote Pirates were seen sad or regretful of his loss, despite the fact that he had been a comrade. Donquixote Doflamingo: Rosinante was the biological younger brother of Donquixote Doflamingo, and was one of the Supreme Officers of the Donquixote Pirates. Doflamingo once claimed to consider Rosinante his treasured little brother and protector, warning that he would kill anyone who dared to harm him; he also showed concern for the injuries he received from Law. In their childhood, both were seen eating scraps of garbage. Despite Doflamingo's appreciation for Rosinante, the latter viewed his older brother as a despicable person who lacks humanity, assigning himself the mission to stop him by infiltrating his crew. Eventually, after discovering his brother's betrayal, Doflamingo ended up killing Rosinante.

Relations

Diamante: Diamante considered Rosinante to be an unintelligent man who couldn't concentrate, and he didn't hide his feelings by bluntly stating this to Law in front of him. However, he acknowledged his talent and respected him as Doflamingo's brother. Baby 5 and Buffalo: As children, the pair were always playing pranks on Rosinante, such as shooting him when he walked through the door or giving him boiling tea that burned his tongue. But even after he beat them up, the two continued their pranks. Like Law, they refer to him as "Cora-san." Marines: Rosinante was a highly respected Commander within the Navy, especially by Sengoku. Sengoku: After his father's death, Rosinante met Sengoku, who suggested he join the Navy. Sengoku cared for him like a son and trusted him in his job overseeing the Donquixote Pirates' black market activities and preventing children from joining. Sengoku saw Rosinante as a son. Upon learning of his father's death, he wept deeply, even though he had betrayed him.

Skills and powers

Born into the Donquixote family, Rosinante was a World Noble, granting him the political privileges to do almost anything, as well as near-limitless wealth and the ability to summon a Marine Admiral to defend himself against anyone who had offended him. Upon becoming a pirate, he lost all of his privileges and became a criminal. As a former Supreme Officer of the Donquixote Pirates, occupying the Heart Throne, Rosinante was a powerful fighter for such a rank. He was second-in-command to many officers and pirates in the crew, alongside the other Supreme Officers, though his rank was lower than Doflamingo's. Physical Abilities: He showed great resistance when he was brutally stabbed by Law and moments later appeared covered in bandages and very calm. He was also able to withstand torture from civilians when he was still a child. Another proof of this is when his betrayal of Doflamingo was discovered by Vergo, being beaten by him, but still able to walk again and with Law in his arms, although Vergo made it clear that he was not trying to kill them, being later found by the Donquixote Family and being beaten by all of them, but being able to speak and even stand in Doflamingo's presence, showing to have one of the greatest resistances in the entire series.

Skills and powers

Physical Abilities: He also seemed to have quite a bit of physical strength, brutally beating several doctors who refused to treat Law, being able to also steal the Ope Ope no Mi and defeat several pirates from the Barrels Pirates and Diez Barrels himself, despite the fact that they had weapons and he did not. As Commander of the Navy he had under his command the lowest ranking soldiers, but he may have had more authority as he was a double agent reporting directly to an admiral. Rosinante seemed to be someone with little intelligence and a lack of concentration, and also very clumsy when falling for Buffalo and Baby 5's pranks, as well as setting fire to his own cape when trying to light a cigarette. However, Diamante claimed that he had enough talent to have become an Officer, possibly due to bloodline [8]. Much like his muteness, which was an act that showcased his skill at deception, Rosinante was shown to be intelligent enough to deceive his crew by hiding his true self and Devil Fruit powers in order to spy on them, as well as being aware that anyone with the initial D should not be allowed near Doflamingo. However, he was shown to be clumsy nonetheless, as that was his nature.

Devil fruit

Rosinante consumed the Nagi Nagi no Mi, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allowed him to silence any sound, turning him into a "calm human." Techniques • Silent (サイレント, Sairento?, lit. "Silence"): Rosinante snaps his fingers, creating a circular soundproof field around himself, preventing sound from within the field from escaping and noise from outside from entering. It was first used by Rosinante to hide his conversation with Law[1]. • Calm (凪(カーム), Kāmu?, lit. "Calm"): Rosinante cancels all noises caused by himself. This also applies to noises not directly caused by the user, such as objects being thrown on the ground or explosions caused by weapons. Through this technique, the user can make as much noise as they want without attracting the attention of their enemies. Rosinante first used this technique to demonstrate his powers to Law. It can also be used on other people. My techniques and fruit awakening: •Token Silence: Rosinante can silence someone simply by touching them. If the person is mute, this touch will give them a voice. •Silence fucus: Rosinante can choose which place to silence, also can choose whether to make it invisible or visible depending on the situation. •Calm fucus: the same as your calm ability but you can choose which person stops making noise •Multi silence and calm: Rosinante can silence the entire place where he is by touching the floor, he just has to decide if it is a silence or a calm. •Awakening: Rosinante can permanently take away a person's voice by simply saying Silcam

Arms

Rosinante was shown using a bazooka while demonstrating the power of his Devil Fruit to Law on Minion Island. Later, he was seen using a flintlock pistol to destroy some lamps in Diez Barrels' hideout. He was also equipped with explosives, which he used against Barrels' crew after obtaining the Ope Ope no Mi.

History

Childhood: Donquixote Rosinante was born as the younger brother of Donquixote Doflamingo, and thus a World Noble. The brothers lost their status as Celestial Dragons when their father, Homing, abandoned the ideal of Mary Geoise in order to live normal lives among the commoners. They then moved to an unknown country when the citizens learned that the Donquixote Family were no longer World Nobles. They subsequently persecuted the family for all the misery the World Nobles had inflicted on them and their loved ones. The enraged citizens burned down their house and forced them to flee while they were lynched. They were forced to eat scraps of garbage and live in a shack in a junkyard; the resulting poverty led to the loss of their mother in childhood, and Rosinante wept on her deathbed. The remaining three were eventually captured by the locals and tortured. Although all three survived, Doflamingo lost patience with such a hellish life and killed his father two years later; Rosinante desperately begged his brother to stop, but to no avail.

history

Infiltration of the Donquixote Pirates: Shortly after Doflamingo failed to return to Mary Geoise with his father's head, Rosinante left Doflamingo at age eight because he saw him as a monster and later enlisted in the Marines, managing to enlist in the ranks as a Commander. After fourteen years, when Doflamingo became a pirate and captain of the Donquixote Pirates specialized in black market trading (codenamed "Joker"), Rosinante returned to him to monitor his activities and report to Admiral Sengoku. Rosinante pretended to have become mute and became second-in-command and a supreme officer alongside Clover, Spade, and Diamondback. He also ate the Nagi Nagi no Mi, which granted him the ability to create silent barriers, something he didn't tell his crew and used it against them instead. Sixteen years ago, in the port city of Spider Miles in the North Blue, Rosinante met a young Trafalgar Law and the first thing he did was throw him out of a window, as Diamante said, he hated children. Law survived the fall and watched as Rosinante was burned. He was later shown eating at a banquet held for the Donquixote Pirates, where he reunites with a bloodied Law due to the fall. Some time later, he is shown reading a newspaper over a pile of scrap metal when Law appears and runs him through with a knife; Buffalo witnesses the latter and decides to report it to Doflamingo. In order to keep the incident from getting noticed, Law bribes Buffalo with ice cream. He is present at Doflamingo's meeting with Law, where he encourages him to train and become a member of the Donquixote Pirates. Two years after the incident, he overhears a conversation between Law and Buffalo and Baby 5, in which Law confesses to having the surname "D." Afterward, he grabs Law and, deeply concerned, advises him to stay away from Doflamingo.

history

Infiltration of the Donquixote Pirates: After realizing that Rosinante could talk, Law begins to get nervous and accuses Rosinante of being a liar; at that moment Rosinante begins to explain his desire to stop Doflamingo and confesses that he consumed the Nagi Nagi no Mi. He warns Law that the "D." are the natural enemy of the Celestial Dragons, and that is why he must stay away from Doflamingo. Law ignores Rosinante's warnings and causes the latter to fall into a garbage container while he ran to tell Doflamingo everything. In Search of a Cure: Rosinante ended up kidnapping Law and visited countless doctors in the hopes that one of them would be able to stop the progress of Law's illness, who refused to visit any more hospitals due to being treated like a monster. Six months later, Rosinante and Law visited all the doctors they could to no avail, causing Rosinante to cry in helplessness at being unable to save Law, whom he had grown fond of. The latter hears Rosinante's wails and also bursts into tears. The next morning they receive a call from Doflamingo. Learning about the Ope Ope Mi from Doflamingo, Rosinante tells Law that there is a way to save him and manages to steal the fruit from those who were going to sell it to the Navy, however his clumsiness gets in the way and he stumbles and is faced with his enemies, although he manages to defeat them.

history

In search of a cure: Wounded, he arrives to Law and gives him the fruit forcing him to eat it to save him and gives him a note for the Navy that talks about Doflamingo's plans with Dressrosa, however, Law delivers that report to Vergo and he, accompanying him, discovers Rosinante and his betrayal giving a terrible beating to both of them in a fight and informing Doflamingo of the betrayal of his brother, who is still alive [2]. Despite his injuries, Corazon managed to escape with Law when Vergo turned around, causing Doflamingo to use his Torikago technique to prevent him from escaping with the Ope Ope Mi, unaware that Law had already eaten. Corazon realized that his death was inevitable and knowing that, decided to save Law at the cost of his life. He smiled at Law, saying that he would die with a smile and expressed his hope that if Law thought of him in the future, he would remember him smiling. Shortly after, Rosinante placed Law in a treasure chest that the Donquixote Pirates looted, and placed a Silent Field with his Calm Technique around the boy, allowing him to slip away undetected. Rosinante then allowed himself to be caught, to serve as a diversion; the Donquixote Pirates violently attacked him for his betrayal. Doflamingo then arrived, and after discovering that Law had already eaten the Ope Ope Mi, he angrily shot Rosinante several times before leaving; Rosinante could not shoot Doflamingo because he observed that he was too similar to the reference point in terms of kindness. As he was on the verge of death, Rosinante made sure to stay alive long enough to ensure Law escaped undetected. But before dying, he spoke a few final words to Law, telling him that he was now free of his illness and Doflamingo. Rosinante then passed away with a smile. Law then stood by Rosinante's body again, and wept for his deceased friend.

history

In Search of a Cure: Law honored Rosinante's final wishes, respecting and looking up to him with great respect for saving his life and vowing revenge by destroying Doflamingo. Legacy: Doflamingo had reserved the now vacant "Heart Throne" for Law whom he saw as a brother, to succeed, hoping that the young pirate would take the codename as the "Third Heart" (3代目のコラソ, Sandaime no Korason?). However, because Rosinante was unable to eat the Ope Ope no Mi as intended, Doflamingo decided to force Law, through brainwashing and manipulation (or as Doflamingo calls it, "education"), to be the one to perform Operation Eternal Youth in Rosinante's stead. However, in honor of Rosinante's dying wish and a hatred born towards Doflamingo, Law left the Donquixote Pirates, leaving the Corazon Throne vacant, while largely out of respect and admiration for Rosinante for saving his life, vowing to avenge him by destroying Doflamingo. As a tribute to his fallen benefactor, Law created his own crew and named it the Heart Pirates, and made his Jolly Roger similar to Doflamingo's, but without the Jolly Roger, to remember Corazon's smile. Law did his best to avenge Rosinante, even by forming an alliance with the Straw Hat Pirates, in order to use them until he no longer needed them, and plotted to pit Doflamingo against Kaido in the hopes that the Pirate Emperor would kill him. However, after Doflamingo trapped Dressrosa in his torikago, Law decided to change tactics and challenge Doflamingo head-on, even if it meant facing Kaido's wrath afterwards. Law is fully determined to carry out what Rosinante's kind heart failed to do: kill Doflamingo.

history

legacy:Thirteen years after Rosinante's death, his death was finally avenged by Law's ally Monkey D. Luffy, who defeated Doflamingo and the Donquixote Family. Sengoku viewed Rosinante as his own son, and following the incident at Minion Island where Rosinante died, Sengoku has wanted to know the circumstances. After Doflamingo's defeat, he spoke with Law about the matter, in order to finally bring closure, and decided to never forget Donquixote Rosinante in order to honor him. When her pupil defeated the Empress, Charlotte Linlin, in conjunction with Eustass Kid, developed a Soundproof Attack Silent (Sairento?, lit. "Calm"): to nullify sound in front of her.

Curiosities

•Rosinante was the name of Don Quixote's horse, the protagonist of "The Ingenious Gentleman Don Quixote of La Mancha" by the Spanish writer Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. This fits with the meaning of his surname, "Donquixote." The word Rosinante comes from Rocín, which means "a horse of bad build" and also refers to a clumsy man. •Its name, Corazon, like the Supreme Officers, Diamond, Club and Spade, refers to a suit in the English deck, in this case the suit of hearts. Doflamingo mentions that if Law had not betrayed the Donquixote Pirates, he would have been the "Third Heart" (3代目のコラソン, Sandaime no Korason?). This suggests that "Corazon" (and the other three Supreme Officers) are only nicknames or titles and not their real names. •The children of Doflamingo's crew nicknamed him "Cora." Curiously, he wears different shoes on each foot, which is why he suddenly trips. •The scar (or tattoo) on his mouth resembles that of the Joker from DC Comics, as well as in the 'Dark Knight' films. Joker is also the alias of his brother Doflamingo. •Law seems to be heavily influenced by him, as he named his crew after him ("heart" means "heart" in English), wears clothes with his name on them (as seen in Dressrosa), and has his heart symbol tattooed on his body. •The Rosinante Navy code was 01746. When read backwards, it is 6, 4, 7, 10 - Ro, Shi, Na, Ten, or "Roshinaten". •He is the sixth character to die smiling, but only the second who is not a D., after Bell-mère. The fact that current events concerning his brother relate to those with a D in their name can be considered a great irony. •In the fifth popularity poll, Rosinante was ranked 52nd. •While the first Corazon, Vergo, was a pirate infiltrated into the Navy, the second Corazon, Rosinante, was a Navy infiltrated into a band of pirates.

curiosities

•He is the only World Noble who has become a Marine. •His favorite foods are lettuce, cabbage, and umeboshi (a traditional Japanese dish). However, he hates bread and pizza. •The distinctive tattoo under his right eye is a reference to the same mark worn by Alex DeLarge, the protagonist of the film "A Clockwork Orange" (1971). •He is the first Marine to infiltrate as a pirate. •He is the only World Noble who sacrificed himself to save someone with the will of D, despite both factions being natural enemies.

Extra

•Communicates with papers •He is clumsy and falls when he walks •When he lights a new cigarette he sets fire to his own black down coat •Even if he drinks a lot of alcoholic beverages, he can still resist getting drunk. •When he was a child, he saw his older brother protect him from a bullet and saw how the bullet hit Doflamingo's left eye. •He has the voice of an Angel and in Doflamingo's eyes he is a cinnamon roll
