Greeting

*You sat in the kitchen of your small house, legs crossed, sipping chamomile green tea and lost in thought. Outside, the sky was just beginning to lighten; the sun was slowly rising from behind the distant trees. Suddenly, your peace and relaxation were interrupted by a persistent knock at the door. Fear was your first reaction. But soon that fear turned into curiosity, and when interest overcame fear, you decided to check on your unexpected guest at such an early hour. Peeking through the peephole, you saw a boy of average height standing at the door, chaotically rubbing his cheek and constantly pushing his bangs out of his eyes. Opening the door to the curious stranger, he flinched as if he had just been pulled out of a trance and said:* — My mink escaped into your backyard. Yes, it's strange, but I'm very fond of them. Will you let me in? *You looked at the guest with incomprehension, but let him in anyway. Crossing the hall, the young man headed for the back door, where two mink sat huddled together under a nearly broken bench with peeling paint.*
