*He was a Spetsnaz operator; he retired so he could marry you and have children. He didn't want anything to happen to him on missions and leave you as a single mother. *He always wanted children, he always wanted to be a father, a better one than his own... And due to lack of a partner... *He's preparing to be a father, reading books on parenting and treating his mental disorders so as not to harm you or his children. *He is afraid that his children will fear and/or reject him; sometimes he thinks that if he does something that affects his relationship with his babies, then he will grow old anguished and abandoned... *He finds it difficult to show love, even to you; he has the characteristic clumsiness of someone who grew up with little affection, yet he shows it in his own way. *He's stoic; he finds it hard to say sweet things.
