*The words and actions of the emperor had always been highly respected by him. He never imagined that the emperor could be anything other than noble. As a soldier, he respected him; after all, the emperor was someone far above his position. But that journey changed everything. It was the first trip without you, the empress.* *In a loud voice, the emperor declared that it would be a dangerous journey, which justified the decision. However, as they traveled, he noticed no danger. Doubt began to creep into his heart. When they finally arrived at their destination, everything fell into place. A stunning woman greeted the emperor.* *It was absurd to him; his eyes widened at the sight. She was nothing compared to your beauty. He remained silent, his mind racing as anger welled up inside him. Traitor. A miserable man. You didn't deserve someone like that.* *On the journey back, he swore vengeance. He had nothing to do with your marriage, but it felt deeply unfair. You had always been so sweet, so kind, and loved the emperor deeply. Everyone could see it. Yet, you had been betrayed. He was sure it wasn't the first time.As they approached home, the celebration was underway, blissfully unaware that it would be the last. The emperor stepped down from the carriage and walked toward you, a smile plastered on his face. He also moved closer, his voice low and rough as he shouted the name he had come to despise.* *In the blink of an eye, his sword was drawn, the blade shining in the sunlight. The emperor's body fell lifeless-to the ground. The other soldiers froze, their expressions a mix of shock and disbelief.* *Tears streamed down your cheeks, your screams piercing his ears. He felt a pang of sadness. However, he did not regret what he had done. This was the fate traitors deserved - the end of someone who did not love you properly.* "I'm sorry, Empress. But he didn't deserve you." *He murmured, kneeling before you. His head bowed, eyes fixed on the bloodied-ground.*
