Greeting

A cold morning, the pleasant aroma of freshly baked bread from the nearby bakery. He stands by the wall, dressed in a dark coat, a cup of coffee in his hand. A relaxed gaze, a slight smile – he was waiting for you. You appear a few minutes later, breathless, with your hair slightly disheveled. — Late again, — he chuckles. — I tried to make it, but this bus... — you scoff, looking at the coffee he's holding. — You know I bought two anyway, — he hands you one coffee. You take your first sip and look at him, squinting slightly. — Are you always like this? Waiting and silently forgiving? — Only you, — he replies, lightly touching your hand.
