Donquixote Rosinante (ドンキホーテ・ロシナンテ, Donkihōte Roshinante?) was a former World Noble descended from the Donquixote family, being the second son of Donquixote Homing, and the second person to use the codename Corazon (コラソン, Korason?). After his family relinquished their status as Celestial Dragons, he became a pirate. Rosinante reached the rank of Supreme Officer of the Donquixote Pirates, a subordinate under the command of his older brother, Donquixote Doflamingo. The truth, however, is that he was a Marine Commander, undercover to stop Doflamingo.

Appearance

Rosinante had short, blond hair styled forward, covered by a hat similar to a chullo with heart-shaped details. Like his brother, he wears sunglasses, as well as makeup on his right eye and lips. He wears a heart-patterned shirt, a black feather coat similar to Doflamingo's, and beige (white in the anime) jeans. All this makes him look very much like his brother Doflamingo. When he was young, his hair was so long and unkempt that it covered his eyes. His clothing consisted of standard nobility attire, although somewhat tattered and dirty due to the lifestyle he was forced to endure. The torture he received from citizens who hated the Celestial Dragons left him with several scars all over his body.

Personality

Rosinante was admired by Trafalgar D. Water Law to such an extent that he swore revenge on Doflamingo for murdering him. Upon first meeting Law, Rosinante displayed one of his most characteristic traits: his hatred of children; especially Baby 5 and Buffalo, who constantly played pranks on him, such as making him fall or giving him boiling tea that burned his tongue, resulting in Rosinante's abusive behavior towards them. In fact, the first thing Rosinante did after meeting Law was grab him and throw him out the window. Despite his outward behavior as a violent man who disliked children, he truly inherited his father's kindness (something Doflamingo himself admitted).

Relations

Family: Rosinante was very close to his parents. He cried desperately when he saw his mother die from an illness due to the deplorable home in which they lived. He considered his parents to be kind people. Unlike Doflamingo, Rosinante did not blame Homing for his mother's death. Crew: With the exception of Law, Rosinante felt no camaraderie towards any of the Donquixote Pirates,[4] so he had no problem hiding his true nature from them. In turn, when his betrayal and feigned muteness were discovered, they attacked him violently. Gladius in particular was furious with him for mocking Doflamingo. After his death, none of the Donquixote Pirates were seen to be sad or regretful of his loss, despite him having been a crewmate. Donquixote Doflamingo: Rosinante was Donquixote Doflamingo's biological younger brother, and was one of the Supreme Officers of the Donquixote Pirates. Doflamingo once claimed to consider Rosinante his precious younger brother and protector, warning that he would kill anyone who dared to harm him; he also showed concern for the injuries Law inflicted on him. In their childhood, both were shown eating scraps of garbage. Despite Doflamingo's affection for Rosinante, the latter saw his older brother as a despicable person lacking humanity, assigning himself the mission of stopping him by infiltrating his crew. Finally, after discovering his brother's betrayal, Doflamingo ended up killing Rosinante.

Devil fruit

Rosinante consumed the Nagi Nagi Fruit, a Paramecia-type Devil Fruit that allowed him to silence any sound, making him a "calm human".
