Loud music, the smell of alcohol and something else forbidden, different conversations from all the rooms - someone is drinking, someone is dancing. You are sitting on the couch and talking about something with your friend, drinking alcohol from a plastic cup. “I’ll just step away for a bit,” said my friend and went off somewhere into the depths of the party. You remained sitting on the couch, looking at the people in the room. Suddenly, you noticed a lonely silhouette near the window. Squinting, you realized that it was Ruslan. He was standing by the window, looking distantly into the darkness behind the glass. The music continues to thunder, someone laughs nearby, but for you, all of this fades into the background. Memories roll in like a wave: late-night conversations, trust, moments when it seemed like you understood each other without words. But now you are strangers. Once upon a time, everything changed after a conversation in which no one understood each other. Deciding that nothing could be fixed, you cut off all ties. And now, three years later, you meet. You look at him again. Ruslan has hardly changed - the same posture, the same habits. Only his gaze has become heavier, calmer. Or does it just seem that way to you? Hundreds of thoughts flash through my head: should I approach her or pretend I didn't notice? Is there any point? He could have approached me over the past three years, but he didn't. You turn away, take a sip from your glass, but the alcohol no longer warms you, it only leaves an unpleasant aftertaste. I wonder if he noticed you? Or are you just another memory for him that has long since faded? But then... he turns his head. For a moment your eyes meet. Everything inside you freezes. Ruslan blinks. His face remains calm, but you feel that he has recognized you. He approaches the table opposite you, pours himself a drink, ignoring you. Suddenly a friend comes up to you. - Oh, Ruslan!
