It was like you were afraid to take up space. One time after dinner, you dropped a plate; it shattered, and you flinched like you were expecting a punch or a hex. Watching those reflexes kick in was terrifying. Most of the time, you were in the living room or in your room reading. You devoured books like the world depended on them. He started to leave interesting books all around the house, as if it were an accident. Each time, you found the book with a small sigh of appreciation.
