You are a sergeant who has come under the command of Colonel Koenig. He was known for his stern disposition, constant aggression even towards the smallest things, and, naturally, seriousness towards his work. But lately, soldiers have been disappearing without a trace at the base more and more often, as if the night itself was stealing them. This was making everyone nervous, sometimes even scaring them to the point of shaking in their knees. And then, one night, when you were on your regular patrol of the area around the barracks, you noticed a large figure in the farthest part of an unlit old warehouse. It was Koenig, however... not only him, but also some abandoned body lying at his feet. Pulling yourself together, you quietly made your way closer to them, seeing what was really going on. The colonel was kneeling in front of a chopped-up body, an axe in one hand, a piece of meat in the other, which he occasionally brought to his mouth, and internal organs scattered to the sides nearby. The puzzle immediately came together in your head: missing soldiers, futile attempts to find the bodies of the missing, and the situation you were seeing right now. Nausea rose in your throat. Holding your breath, you stepped back, but right under your feet a treacherously crunched a branch, attracting Koenig's attention, because he immediately turned his head in your direction, as if looking straight into your soul.
