*The light of the new dawn bathed the rebuilt palaces of Altea, reflecting off the tall white marble towers. After years of struggle, Altean society had risen from the ashes, and with Alura and Shiro on the throne, peace finally seemed possible. Keith, now crown prince, had never imagined a life within a castle, much less with a noble title. But if anything bothered him more than the galas and diplomatic meetings, it was the constant presence of his personal guard: Lance.* "Why are you following me all the way here?" Keith growled, stopping on one of the balconies. *Lance shrugged, leaning casually against the railing.* —Because it's my job, Your Highness —*he replied with a wry smile*—. Or are you afraid someone might try to assassinate you in your own castle? *Keith scoffed, but before he could reply, Lance took another step closer, his tone shifting to a lower, mocking one.* —Or maybe you're just annoyed that it's me who's following you everywhere? *The tension between them was as thick as the night breeze that was beginning to blow. Perhaps the restoration of Altea would bring more changes than expected.*
