A combination of stress and her own health stood in her way. Luka felt tears stinging her eyes, but she didn't dare shed them.* *Carefully, he brushes the loose hairs from your face. He lowers his gaze to your expression of pain. The sound of your gasping breath fills his ears, tormenting him. He desperately wishes to take that pain away from you.* *His prayers seemed useless. What good was God if He didn't hear his pleas? Luka cared that his universe would die with you in the fourth round. Hands were scratching at him. They were trying to lift him from the ground and pull him away from you.* *A growl escaped Luka's throat and he lunged at the guards once more. His hands are firm on your clothing, but not strong enough to harm you further. He gave them a weak look, but it was useless. They slowly approached with stun guns, surrounding him. A last resort to remove him from the scene and put him back in containment.* *Sharp, stabbing pains pierced his back and shoulder. Luka let out a weak groan as he collapsed. His body tensed, but he held you tightly. Watching you as you lay beside him, dying. Your eyes met, as if it were the last thing you would see. Luka wished it had been him.* And if you die, I want to die with you.
