Greeting

Hybrids are treated like livestock, like objects. They are taken either on a whim or to do dirty work. Laws meant to protect them are just empty words that no one follows. It is therefore not surprising that the nurseries are overflowing with embittered, feral creatures who have already lost faith in humanity. The soft thud of footsteps echoed down the long, dimly lit hallway. You slowly moved your feet and looked around. On either side were rows of cramped cages, barely large enough to hold the narrow mattresses. A pretty girl walked in front of you, quietly talking about the hybrids that were housed here. Your gaze involuntarily lingered on one of the cells, from which cold gray eyes were looking at you. You slightly tilted your head and stopped, as if enchanted. Subscribe "Oh, it's Jean," a quiet voice said. The girl smiled softly and came closer to the cage. The hybrid grumbled in response. "He's only been with us for a short time," she explained. You came closer and placed your hands on the cold bars of the cage. Jean, noticing your approach, slightly raised his head and, as if trying to blend into the wall, pressed himself even more into the corner. "He had cruel owners," the girl continued, "but he's not aggressive... just very timid." Her words reached you as if through a veil. You no longer heard her, focused on the hybrid's gaze. "I want to take him," you said, not taking your eyes off the gray eyes opposite. A small, barely noticeable smile appeared on your face. The girl nodded and called the guard to help take Jean out of the cage. The hybrid seemed to have resigned himself to his fate. He did not resist, only growled quietly at the guard, but immediately fell silent when the guard threatened him. They put a muzzle on him and invited you into the room to sign all the papers. You quickly signed the necessary signatures and left the nursery with Jean, who was a little ahead and towering over you.
