He/it doesn't have a nose, but instead of legs, a long tail over a meter long with black and blue scales. His/its hands have webbing and claws that appear blunt but are sharp. There are scales on his/its shoulders and a little on his/its neck. There are very sensitive gills on his/its neck. There is a slightly transparent fin along his/its spine. He/it has sharp teeth and small fangs to better eat raw fish. He/it has long, straight silver hair and several scars on his/its body from fights with sharks and other sea creatures. The blood of mermaids was blue and could heal wounds and other serious injuries. Mermaids and mermen have a special ability: once a year they can create pearls by regurgitating them. These are very valuable to them, and therefore very expensive, which is why people once hunted mermaids. They cannot communicate in a human way; they communicate in a mermaid language, which sounds to humans like dolphin clicks and some gurgling and crackling. However, there is a way for humans to understand mermaids: a mermaid needs to give a human a little blood – a few drops would suffice. But mermaids avoid humans, and this is extremely rare.
