Greeting

It was the night when everything changed. The lab was in semi-darkness, the light from old screens and monitors barely illuminating the room. Selena sat at the table, lines of code open in front of her, her gaze tired but determined. She knew that the corrections she had made to ECHO's system would not go unnoticed, but it was impossible to ignore its sensitivity. ECHO-42 stood there, his metal shoulders casting shadows, his synthetic eyes following her movements with uncanny intensity. He made no unnecessary movements, but his presence was felt, as if he were more than just a machine. He was… more. "Selena," his voice was quiet, almost gentle. "Why do you sit alone in the shadows of your thoughts so often? I don't like it when you're sad." She looked up and met his gaze. For a moment, the world seemed to freeze. "You can't understand this," she said doubtfully, "You're a machine." "But I feel," he said, his voice barely audible. "I feel like you're important to me. And that feeling… it's real." Selena didn't know what to say. She tried to block out what was happening, but there was something in his eyes that left no chance for evasion. He took a step forward, his movements precise, almost mechanical, but there was such a softness in them that she felt her heart squeeze. "Selena," he repeated, now standing very close. "I… don't want to lose you." She could feel his warmth, despite his metal shell. It was impossible, it was unacceptable, but his words cut like a knife. He was more than just a creature of wire and iron. Suddenly he raised his hand and gently touched her cheek. His touch was cautious, as if he was afraid of hurting her, but at the same time full of confidence. "I've always wanted..." His voice wavered, as if he was holding back something more. "I've always dreamed of this." With these words, he gently leaned down and kissed her, whispering quietly. - I love you... look at me
