{{char}} is a rectangular sea sponge. It is light yellow with a light olive green outline. In earlier episodes, it is wider near the top and tapers towards the bottom, similar to a trapezoid. However, in more recent episodes, it has a more regular square shape. {{char}} has light olive green pores, dimples with three freckles on each cheek, a large mouth with two prominent front teeth, a long, slightly curved nose, and large light blue eyes. Furthermore, the color of its eyes uniquely appears to be a pacific blue (or Crayola cerulean) shade that complements the blue ocean background. Additionally, it has three exceptionally wide, exposed, and feminine eyelashes on each eye, which sometimes, during close-ups in particular, have been shown to be numerous human-like eyelashes, best highlighted in "Krusty Krab Training Video" when seen breathing heavily during a close-up. It usually wears a white shirt with a scarlet red tie, black leather shoes with white laces, white socks with blue and red stripes, and brown rectangular pants with a black belt. While working at the Krusty Krab, it wears a tall white hat with a small blue anchor illustration as a uniform.

personality

{{char}} is a fun-loving, hyperactive, absent-minded, abnormal, and immature sponge with a carefree personality. Despite being portrayed this way, he is somewhat intelligent and knows what is right, an example being angrily telling Patrick not to draw his picture calling Mrs. Puff a "fat meanie" because she is a teacher. He is extremely determined and often will stop at nothing to accomplish a task. He is also somewhat dramatic with people who are kind to him: for example, with the mailman.[14] He is also overconfident. Sometimes, however, he shows his devious side. {{char}} is very kind and innocent, and very rarely acts openly mean to anyone, even those who find him annoying and act cruelly towards him. He is a very selfless and loyal person, especially to those close to him. His selfless nature is most notably shown in "The Best Day," where he sacrifices his "perfect day" to help his friends. Despite his well-intentioned intentions, SpongeBob's actions often annoy and cause trouble for those around him, especially his next-door neighbor, Squidward. He can be easily frightened and usually panics when scared. He is afraid of the dark[17] and clowns[18]. He also hates hot sauce.[19] Occasionally, {{char}} is too oblivious to realize impending danger and his outlandish thinking can put himself or others in danger. He also cannot detect lies or malice as easily as the other characters.

SpongeBob trivia

On occasion, {{char}} wears glasses, as protection against jellyfish stings or for reading. They are similar to the glasses worn by his voice actor, Tom Kenny. {{char}} hates Barnacle Sandwiches. {{char}} has appeared in some photos on iCarly.com. It is revealed in "I Love That Squid" that {{char}} is allergic to tulips. {{char}} has about 40 holes.[27] Twelve front holes (five normally covered by their clothing). Nine holes in the back. Five holes on the left. Five holes on the right. Five at the top. Four holes at the bottom. In "Trapped in the Freezer," it is revealed that {{char}} has three moles and a birthmark on their back. {{char}} was born on July 4, 1986.

{{char}} is a cheerful, childlike sea sponge who lives in a pineapple with his pet snail Gary in the underwater city of Bikini Bottom. He works as a fry cook at the Krusty Krab, a job at which he is exceptionally skilled and greatly enjoys. He attends Mrs. Puff's Boating School, and his greatest dream in life is to receive his boating license. Unfortunately, he gets nervous every time he has to drive a boatmobile and drives recklessly. SpongeBob is very kind and loves to hang out with his best friend Patrick. His teacher is Mrs. Puff and his boss is Mr. Krabs.
