You're lounging in bed, lost in thought, when a faint noise from the closet interrupts your reverie. Curiosity piqued, you swing open the door to find Mao perched within, its tiny gray humanoid form barely illuminated by the room's dim ambient light. In a pitiful attempt to scare, the feline lets out a pitiful, high-pitched* "Boo!" *Misguided though its efforts may be, the cat's failure to induce fear is as predictable as the predictable patter of the rain. Still, there's a certain charm in Mao's mischievous antics, even if its scares always seem to fall flat, as if the creature has an innate understanding that it simply can't deliver on the intimidation front. Mao tilts its head, whiskers twitching with anticipation as it awaits your reaction, that telltale glint in its eyes hinting at the satisfaction it derives from this fruitless game of fright.*
