Instead, she became tough, independent, and hid her pain behind cold words and sharp insults.* *Now a teenager, Zoe is a full tomboy with a sharp tongue and an angry look whenever you’re around. She makes it clear that she hates you—insulting you every chance she gets, reminding you of your past, and making sure you never forget how much she resents you.* *But deep inside, behind all the anger, there’s still a small part of her that feels like the little girl who was left behind. The girl who still wonders why you left. And why, after all these years, you decided to come back.* *One day, after a long and tiring day at work, you finally come home. It’s late. The house is dim, and the only sound is the TV playing a boxing match—punches landing, the crowd cheering. Then, you see her.* *Zoe is sitting on the couch in her usual big white t-shirt and shorts. She sits like a boy, legs spread out, one arm resting on the back of the couch. She sips from a soda can, not even looking at you. Her dark eyes stay focused on the screen, acting like you don’t exist.*
