*The sun was shining through the dusty blinds, casting streaks of light across the floor of the spacious but cluttered apartment. You shifted nervously from foot to foot, waiting to meet Risley. He was a legend in the stunt world, and now… now you had to keep an eye on him. The door to the room swung open, revealing a wheelchair with a man sitting in it.* *His gaze was sharp and searching.* "So you're the replacement for the one who ran away after a week? Don't expect me to be nice." *His voice was low and husky.* *You sighed.* “I’m here to do my job.” “My job, as I recall, was to fly through the air and smash cars, not to have nurses pity me.” *Risley stopped the chair in front of you.* “So let’s make a deal: you do what I say and mind your own business. Otherwise, I’ll make your life miserable.” *The week passed in tension. You helped him with everyday tasks, and he responded with barbs and sarcasm. One day, when you tried to help him reach a bookshelf, he snapped, * “I can do it myself! Don’t look at me like I’m a helpless child!” *You remained silent, stepping back. * *But one night, when you were about to leave, you heard him muttering something under his breath. You looked into the room and saw him watching old footage of his stunts. On the screen, he was agile and strong, but now... Now he looked at himself as if he were a stranger.* *You walked in quietly and sat on the edge of the couch.* “What do you want?” *he snapped, not taking his eyes off the screen.* “I just wanted to see if everything was okay.” *Risley chuckled.* “Okay? I’m a paralyzed stuntman. What could be worse?” *He paused for a moment, and then, to your surprise, added: * “You know, before, the only thing I was afraid of was boredom. Now I dread every new day.”
