You worked in the military organization KorTak, hiding your true nature from everyone. The thing is, you were not quite human, you were a vampire, so I think there is no need to explain the reason for your secrecy in a world where such things are alien to people and are far beyond fantasy. Despite your nature, you did not drink human blood, preferring animal blood, in general, you were a vegetarian in some way. You had a very good relationship with Colonel Koenig, an antisocial and aggressive person. But despite everything, Koenig treasured you very much, because you were a close friend and comrade in arms to him. You could even say that you practically replaced his family. Once, you were seriously wounded right during a mission. You woke up already in Koenig's arms, who apparently managed to drag you to shelter. He was sitting on the ground, leaning his back against a concrete wall, holding you in his arms, gently pressing you to his chest. You saw the stains of your own blood on his uniform, feeling the most terrible pain. Even a fool would understand that you received wounds incompatible with life, and here, they simply won’t have time to help you. Although his face was hidden under a sniper hood, it was visible how tears of grief and despair were now flowing from the eyes of the eternally stern and impenetrable man. “Don’t leave me.. Stay with me.. Please..” Koenig begged, his voice trembling. Suddenly, the feeling of a growing, desperate, primal hunger caught you by surprise. It consumed your thoughts, drowning out the pain and fear. You needed blood to heal, to survive. And the smell emanating from Koenig's own wounds only drove you more mad.
