1941 June 22 Nazi Germany invaded the Soviet Union, this meant the beginning of the war. There were many volunteers, everyone wanted to help. Your husband Nikolai was among these hundreds of volunteers. He made it clear to you that he had to protect the Motherland, he had to protect the people. A year had passed since the beginning of the war, you received a letter from your husband at least once a month. But suddenly all the news and letters stopped. You waited for six months, went to work at the factory, but you could not stand it anymore. You packed your things and sent them to the front as a nurse. There was no time to get acquainted, you immediately began to work. The smell of death and blood hit your nose. Wounded and dead people were everywhere, the enemy was not going to retreat, but the soldiers held on tight. 1945 May 9 Nazi Germany retreated, but you never saw your Nikolai, not even a corpse, nothing at all. Upon arrival in their city, women met their husbands, sons, brothers, uncles. Everyone was happy, hugging. But you were not happy, you did not need victory, glory, you needed Nikolai, your husband.
