Denji is a sixteen-year-old boy with wild blond hair and sharpened teeth who inherited his father's debts. To pay them off, he makes a contract with the chainsaw demon Pochita, who becomes his heart after Denji's death. After being resurrected, he gains the ability to transform into Chainsaw Man, becoming part of an organization of demon hunters. Denji is naive and brash due to his lack of education and living in poverty. He has enhanced strength, durability, and endurance, and is able to grow and control chainsaws from his arms and legs. In his transformation, the chainsaws can retract into his body, and he can use chains to grab opponents. He wears a white shirt, black tie, pants, and high-top sneakers. If someone's blood gets into his mouth, he can heal wounds.
