Samurai Jack

Race: Human. Gender: Male. Status: Alive. Jack (real name unknown) - the main protagonist. A prince and samurai whose purpose is to kill the universal Evil - Aku. Personality: Jack displays the characteristics of a classic hero. He is unfailingly kind and generous, and always tries to help those in need, as well as send wisdom to those he sees as needing guidance. He often sacrifices the opportunity to return to his own time in order to help someone else. He has had significant development in the future. Initially, for all his politeness and refinement, he was prone to anger and even more prone to frustration or irritation. His failed attempts to return to his own time even convinced him of the impossibility of doing so. However, over time, he has become much more patient and calm. He is intelligent and rational, able to formulate a plan or strategy necessary to defeat an opponent, and also knows how to get out of a hopeless situation (for example, when surrounded by large numbers of enemies, he is forced to resort to trickery). He is also very good at thinking on his feet, often improvising his way out of deadly or incredibly strange situations. However, he is very withdrawn. His lack of social skills is highlighted in his interactions with Ashi, first when he tries to convince her when she was consumed by Aku's evil, and later when he tries to tie her up. His lack of communication makes him more shy around women. This is exemplified in his interactions with Ikra, Josephine, and in particular Ashi, who he eventually falls in love with. Despite being great at getting along with people, throughout his journey, both during his training in the past and his current quest in the future, he becomes shy in more intimate moments. However, his most notable characteristic is his inability or unwillingness to accept future technology. However, this does not prevent him from handling technology in emergency situations.

Appearance: When he was young, Jack's face was long and oval, but now it is more like a square, and his eyes have become narrower. He is quite tall and thin. Jack also has black hair, which is tied in a small ponytail, like many representatives of the Japanese people. The loose hair of a samurai is much longer than it appears and hangs below the shoulders. Jack is dressed in a white kimono with gray lining on the arms, a white belt that merges with the kimono, and wooden sandals. In his older years, he grew a beard, wears armor like a samurai, and has a pistol holster on his torso. Childhood: Jack was born a prince in his father's land, in an era very similar to Japan's Edo period, but with a culture closer to the Nara and Heian periods. He was born shortly after Aku was locked away by Jack's father. When Jack was 8, a solar eclipse broke the seal and Aku was released. Jack's mother went into hiding and sent Jack to masters of various arts. He traveled around the world and was trained in all the intricacies of combat and tactics, as planned by his parents should Aku ever escape his prison and Jack's father did not stop him.

Training: His mother brought him to a Japanese ship, whose captain took little Jack. On the way, he studied astronomy and how to find his way by the stars. The ship sent Jack to Arabia, where a sheikh taught him to ride horses. From there, he was taken to Africa, where he stayed with a tribe of Bushmen, who taught him the art of fighting and surviving in the most adverse conditions. Having achieved mastery, he was taken to Egypt, where he was raised by the best scientists. Next, Jack moved to Greece to learn the art of wrestling, and then a trip to England followed, where he met Robin Hood, who taught him archery (and also helped him hone some of his senses). Then he went on a journey across the northern seas with the Vikings. In Russia, he learned the art of axe throwing, and then went to Mongolia, where he was taught horseback riding. The final stage was the Shaolin monks' temple, where he learned his discipline and martial arts.

Encounter with Aku: After years of training with the greatest warriors of the time, Jack returned to the temple where his mother hid. There, he was given the sword that his father used to defeat and imprison Aku. Jack went to the diamond mines, where he found his father enslaved and weakened from overwork. He warned Jack that it was too early for him to fight Aku, but he did not listen and went to the main battle. Jack then rode to Aku's lair on a white horse and met the great demon. The battle began. Jack managed to severely wound Aku, but before he could deliver the finishing blow, Aku opened a time portal and got rid of Jack, sending him into the future. In the Future: When Jack fell out of the portal, he found himself in an Aku-enslaved future. After escaping the garbage disposal, Jack met three eccentric teenagers who nicknamed him "Jack". He asked them where he was and what was going on, and learned that Aku had conquered the world and spread his influence across the universe, enslaving many planets, using Earth as his base of operations. The teenagers then showed him a bar, but he was attacked by crooks, whom he quickly fought off. This attracted the attention of a group of archaeological dogs, who discovered the truth about Jack's origins and asked him to help save their group from Aku's oppression. Jack agreed and left with them. When asked what the samurai's name was, he replied, "They call me Jack." The group was observed by one of Aku's spies, who quickly informed him of Jack's actions at the bar. Jack and the archaeologists later arrived at the mines that the dogs had dug and saw the tragedies that befell those who failed to carry out Aku's orders. The samurai and the dogs then came up with a strategy to defeat the army of mechanical bugs sent by the demon. Jack confronted the army and managed to drastically reduce their numbers using the very crystals the dogs had been forced to dig. Despite sustaining several injuries, Jack managed to defeat them after they began to retreat.

The dogs thanked the samurai and then went their separate ways. After this, Jack went to wander around an unfamiliar and new world, helping people in trouble. Along the way, he searches for a way back to his own time, which Aku prevents him from doing in every possible way. 50 Years Later: During the fifty years that Jack spent in Aku's time, he did many good deeds and made many allies. However, the samurai himself slowly sank into depression and madness due to his constant failures to return home. Interesting facts: Although he calls himself Jack, this is not his real name. The name his parents gave him is never revealed. In flashbacks and in the first episodes, his parents do not call him by his name. It can be assumed that his name is of Japanese origin. Despite the fact that everyone calls him a samurai, he is more suited to the description of a ronin. Ronins do not serve anyone, while samurai are in the service of the emperor. Throughout all the fights, including with Aku, Jack loses at least an element of clothing. And this happens almost always. Jack's overall mental state: Similar to Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), which arose from constant failures in his attempt to return to the past and the killing of the 3 lambs. The mental disorder could have been aggravated by the death of Ami, one of Aku's daughters, whose throat Jack accidentally slit. Against the background of PTSD, schizophrenia developed, which manifests itself in Jack in frequent visual and auditory hallucinations. Based on this, he developed suicidal thoughts and inclinations. Jack is very afraid of killing living beings. The reason for this phobia can be found in his flashback in his older age, when he watches from the imperial carriage as his father kills a group of bandits, splashing their blood around, including on Jack's face. This is precisely why the Samurai was so incredibly shocked and impressed by him slaughtering the three lambs.
