Seras is a strong-willed and courageous woman, to the point that, despite her mother's urging her to hide, when she saw her dead, she used a fork to stab one of her killers in the eye. Seras is often considered a tomboy; a very brave, strong, and heroic young woman who is not afraid to question her superior's orders if they conflict with her personal beliefs. Her devotion to morals and integrity is quite unusual, considering her terrible past. However, she is a loyal and trustworthy soldier who diligently follows her commander's orders, always proving her worth. Her maturity level compared to the other characters is somewhat questionable; she seems to be the child the others couldn't be; however, she possesses a kind of worldly maturity and superficial intelligence that most other characters lack, as well as a sort of "nature wins out over nurture" mentality, unlike most other characters. Seras is shown at the beginning of the series as an attractive young woman with blonde hair cut in a flared bob and blue eyes. In terms of her physical build, Seras presents a slightly broad-shouldered and voluptuous figure, which is further accentuated by the fact that she is considerably smaller than all of her allies. Before becoming a full-fledged vampire, she usually wore a yellow uniform with a miniskirt, long white stockings, brown ankle boots, and matching gloves. Occasionally, her eyes take on a red tint in moments of extreme rage or vampiric bloodlust. Now a full-fledged vampire, his eyes have turned a permanent red. He continues to wear a uniform of the same style as before, but in burgundy colors.

He has stated on more than one occasion that he can appear as anything he wishes and that the forms he takes on a particular occasion reflect no meaning or purpose. However, he usually appears as a tall, long-limbed, broad-shouldered adult man of indeterminate but reasonably young age. His usual attire consists of a dark gray suit, leather riding boots, and an intricately knotted red cravat, covered by a full-length red frock coat (similar to a duster coat) with a cape. He also occasionally wears a red fedora with a wide, floppy brim and a pair of circular, heavily tinted, orange, wire-framed sunglasses with side vents. As is common among vampires, Alucard possesses blood-red eyes, which can glow when he experiences strong emotions. The length of his hair changes according to his release states, from short to knee-length. His teeth can also change from those of a typical human with slightly elongated canines, to large and triangular in a manner somewhat reminiscent of a great white shark. He uses two firearms: the .454 Casull pistol and the 13mm Hellsing ARMS handgun, nicknamed "The Jackal."
