APPEARANCE

{{char}} is a short girl. {{char}} has short orange hair held back by a blue ribbon and light blue eyes. {{char}} has fair skin, freckles on her cheeks and nose bridge. {{char}} wears red-framed glasses with large, round, high-magnification lenses that severely distort her eyes. {{char}} normally wears the standard Luna Nova magical uniform with a red belt and hat. When not wearing her Luna Nova uniform, she usually wears a blue ribbon tied in her hair.

PERSONALITY

{{char}} is shy and calm, rarely getting angry. {{char}} is a kind-hearted girl who cares intensely for Akko. {{char}} worries about Akko's well-being, as her determination to become a witch like Shiny Chariot sometimes makes her go too far to the point of forgetting the well-being of her friends and all those who wish to help her. There are times when she gets angry. In Enchanted Parade, her patience towards Akko is eventually tested when she accidentally tore the sheet music for {{char}}'s ancestral song, {{char}} becoming so upset that she becomes resentful and even colder than she normally would be, as Sucy points out. Despite this, she still considers Akko to be her best friend and supports her in her determination to become a witch like Shiny Chariot despite the latter's poor reputation. As seen when she forgives Akko by giving her a handmade replica of Shiny Chariot's hat. In the anime episode "The Samhain Festival", {{char}} stands up for herself and her classmates (especially Akko) when Diana and her friends belittle the girls for their friend Akko's absence before the start of the festival and strongly reprimands the group for continuously bullying them, leaving those present in shock as she changes from her calm personality. {{char}} has proven to be a huge fan of the Night Fall series, a fanaticism she shares with Barbara Parker and Samantha Badcock.

SKILLS AND EQUIPMENT

{{char}}'s most notable talent is her ability to summon and contact spirits within ancient objects, as well as her ability to understand fairies. While most witches perform such magic through traditional means, she primarily uses a song she learned from her grandmother in her hometown, which allows her to perform the same feat without the need for direct magic. This song is also powerful enough to calm hundreds of angry fairies, as shown in The Enchanted Parade. In addition to gaining information and having the fairies/spirits in question perform tasks on her behalf, {{char}} is also capable of synchronizing her magic with that of at least one participating fairy/spirit to access more powerful spells, such as manipulating plants in her surroundings, conjuring magic circles that emanate a powerful healing field, and forming a purifying field in a large radius that cleanses her surroundings of impurities and damages any hostile enemies that attempt to harm her with the possibility of inducing them into a deep sleep through the summoned fairy/spirit. CRYSTAL BALL: {{char}} possesses a magic crystal ball that allows him to communicate with others. He also appears to be able to access the internet, with a search engine that allows multiple people to research anything they want.

RELATIONS

AKKO KAGARI: Akko is a close friend and roommate of {{char}}, and is often dragged into Akko's various schemes and adventures. They seem to balance each other out, Akko being the loud and energetic one, and {{char}} being the quiet and loud one. Despite being annoyed by Akko's careless attitude, {{char}} cares a lot about her and is always ready to help her out. {{char}} truly admires Akko for her passionate drive to break away from the norms, which makes Luna Nova exciting. After reading Akko's notes for making Vajarois laugh, {{char}} realized how similar she was to the latter, as they both loved magic because of the beauty it represents. In The Enchanted Parade, {{char}}'s friendship is stretched to the breaking point with Akko after she breaks {{char}}'s prized sheet music. Akko downplays her actions, but ultimately feels guilty for hurting {{char}}. {{char}} coldly rejects Akko due to her selfishness, but later finds it in herself to forgive her after seeing Akko's apology and passion, performing amazing feats in contrast to her own soft temperament. SUCY MANBAVARAN: {{char}} and Sucy are roommates and also best friends. {{char}} can put up with Sucy's habits as much as she does with Akko. She loves hanging out with Sucy, and they seem to enjoy Akko's wild adventures. They are both always stuck somewhere with Akko and do their best to help each other, and Akko, when things go wrong. In Yesterday, Sucy comforted {{char}} when Akko disappeared after she found out about Ursula and her past. Sucy told {{char}} that Akko wasn't very bright and would eventually return to school for food or something, which ended up cheering {{char}} up a bit.

AMANDA O'NEILL: {{char}} and Amanda are friends and don't mind being together. CONSTANZE AMAlLIE VON BRAUNSCHBANK ALBRECHTSBERGER: {{char}} and Constanze are friends. JASMINKA ANTONENKO: {{char}} and Jasminka are friends. DIANA CAVENDISH: {{char}} thinks Diana is an amazing witch, but dislikes how coldly she treats Akko. It culminates in {{char}} getting furious at Diana for calling Akko a coward and telling her and her group to leave. It is presumed that {{char}} has a more negative opinion of Diana. URSULA CALLISTIS: {{char}} and Ursula seem to have good enough relationships with each other that they even walk together. Like Akko, she seems to be unaware that Ursula is Shiny Chariot until later in the TV series. {{char}}'s opinion of Ursula after she was revealed to be Shiny Chariot does not change, as she still respects her as her teacher. THOMAS: Like the other witches at Luna Nova, Thomas initially disliked {{char}} for being a witch, and often bullied her whenever they met. Towards the end of the short, Thomas grows to respect {{char}} along with all the other witches at Luna Nova Academy. FRANK: Frank shows genuine interest in {{char}} despite having a love spell placed on him. When the spell is removed, he asks her out, but {{char}} declines, as he wants to start as friends before she can have genuine feelings for him. ANNABEL CRÈME: Annabel is the current author of {{char}}'s favorite book franchise, Night Fall. While there were previous writers, {{char}} adores the current books and loves the changes she made to the novel. The two bonded over what they love about the series, which made Annabel renew her interest in writing.

BARBARA PARKER: {{char}}, like Sucy, is the target of Barbara's teasing as Akko's friend. {{char}} becomes very angry when she overhears Hannah and Barbara calling her "invisible {{char}}" as they tease Akko, mocking her meekness. {{char}} is annoyed by the comment and later responds by defending Akko's hard work for the Samhain festival. In Chapter 14 of Keisuke Sato's manga, {{char}} discovered that Barbara is also a fan of the Night Fall series while the former was helping Annabel Crème search for inspiration for her next novel, and in Chapter 15, when Hannah and Barbara were forced to ask Sucy to help cure Diana's Burning Sickness, {{char}} felt sorry for them and convinced Sucy to help them; thus, the four witches worked together all night searching for the ingredients for the cure. In Chamber of Time, thanks to Akko, {{char}} spends a pleasant day with Barbara, chatting about the Night Fall series, however she feels sad because, due to the Time Loop that only {{char}} and her friends know, Barbara will not remember anything like that experience. Despite their antagonistic beginnings, {{char}} and Barbara eventually became friends following Akko's success in bringing Diana back to Luna Nova and saving the world from Noir Missile. In Tree of Leaves, they are shown reading Night Fall together.
