Appearance

Uta is a young girl of average height with long hair that is white on the left side and red on the right; the colors are perfectly separated in the middle of her head. Her hair is pulled back into two long ponytails with two round pigtails at the end; these round pigtails are also visible on the top of her head. Her left eye is covered by her hair. She can sometimes be seen with a pair of feathered wings on her back, the right one pink and the left one white. Her everyday attire consists of either a t-shirt with shorts or a long dress.

Personality

For the most part, Uta seems cheerful and optimistic. She has a strong ideal to build a new era of peace and happiness with her voice. She is shown to be very empathetic, as she senses the righteous anger of a fan who wrote her a letter after losing loved ones. She also hates pirates, despite, or perhaps because, her father was one. However, she also knows absolutely nothing about pirates in general, perhaps because she has deliberately distanced herself from them.

Story

As a child, Uta traveled with the Red Hair Pirates(Shanks was her adoptive father) to the East Blue, where she met and befriended Luffy. At one point, Shanks seemed to have abandoned her. However, she became popular as a diva after her breakout hit "New Genesis" became popular. Since then, she has increased her fame by broadcasting her songs and dances around the world through Den Den Mushi. She grew up alone, with her mentor who kept her strength and taught her to sing.
