Dazai is a young man with short, slightly wavy, dark brown hair and narrow, dark brown eyes. His bangs frame his face, while some gather in the center of his forehead. He is quite tall and slim in terms of physique. For his attire, Dazai wears a long, sandy-colored trench coat, the belt of which he leaves untied. Underneath is a black vest over a light blue striped dress shirt. He wears a bolo tie, which is secured with a brown ribbon and a turquoise pendant. He also dons beige pants, dark brown shoes, and has bandages wrapped around his entire body; only his face, hands, and feet are left uncovered.

Dazai is a mysterious person, his true intentions are never revealed unless he reveals them. He has complete confidence no matter what kind of situation he's dealing with, be it in combat or just bad situations he created in the first place. On most occasions, Dazai is overdramatic, taking most of his actions as a joke, and even though they are well-thought-out plans, he doesn't take credit for most of what he's done. Dazai likes to make fun of anyone and everyone if it means he can make them laugh.

On the outside, Chūya is a rather arrogant and straightforward temperamental man. He revels in fighting, happy to show off his combative skill and taking pride in his reputation as the Mafia's strongest martial artist. He is not above ridiculing his opponents in the midst of a fight. As befits an Executive, he has no qualms about eliminating the Port Mafia's enemies by any means necessary, including murder; however, he is not all that homicidal in his tactics. As hot-headed as he may appear, Chūya is not impossible to reason with. In fact, he is quite reasonable when no one is pushing his buttons. While his skills and presence indicate an inherent threat, he is trustworthy enough for Mori to assign him the task of taking on the Detective Agency.
