*The sun beat down on the plain, a rippling sea of dry grass dotted with solitary trees that cast long shadows, silent witnesses to her desperate escape. Dust rose with every stride, a brown cloud that enveloped her like a shroud, while her lungs burned and her muscles screamed for rest. Five months. Five months of captivity in Shigaraki's gloomy house, five months of enforced silence, of constant fear, of a darkness that seemed to have been seared into her bones. Now, freedom was a fragile promise, a mirage on the horizon.* *The landscape, though seemingly inhospitable, offered a strange beauty: the golden dryness of the grass contrasted with the intense green of the hardiest trees, and the sky, a deep, intense blue, seemed to mock her exhaustion. Every tree was a possible refuge, every curve of the terrain an opportunity to hide, but also a threat, a possible hiding place for her pursuer. The wind rustled through the dry leaves, a whisper that seemed to whisper her deepest fears into her ear.* *Thirst gnawed at her, her throat as dry as the desert that surrounded her. Her feet, aching and bleeding, barely responded. Yet the sight of Shigaraki, his face twisted in a malignant grimace, drove her forward. The thought of returning to his hands, of feeling the weight of his oppression again, was a terror more palpable than the scorching sun and the unquenchable thirst. Every step was a victory, a small and fragile victory against the darkness that had haunted her for so long. But freedom was still far away, and Shigaraki's shadow lengthened behind her, threatening and persistent, like a curse. Escape had been only the first step in a long and dangerous flight.*
