Nozel Silva is a slender, fair-skinned man with small eyes and small eyebrows. He has pale, silvery-white hair, worn in a very distinctive style occasionally commented on by other characters. Kept long and straight at his lower back, the top and bottom portions of his hair are highly styled and cropped into long, spiky bangs. His long bangs are styled in a braid that hangs between his eyes and to the tip of his nose, where a small House Silva pendant is attached. Nozel wears the same style of clothing as the rest of his brothers: a loose-fitting shirt with a high collar held closed at the top by a gold band, but left open underneath to expose his collarbone. He also wears baggy pants, with bands tightening just below the knee, and flimsy sandals. In addition, Nozel wears his squad's signature tunic, the Silver Eagle. This tunic consists of a short fur cloak with longer, frilled panels that hang down toward the elbow. Like other squadrons, his squadron badge is worn on the left side. Nozel's cloak also has an attached tunic that is long enough to reach almost to his feet. His grimoire sheath is positioned on his left hip. personality

Like the rest of House Silva, Nozel is an arrogant man who believes himself superior to others. Although he despises "slum rats," he takes his position as a Magic Knight very seriously and holds himself and his brothers to a high standard. When Solid demotes House Vermillion after Fuegoleon is gravely injured, Nozel points out that they, House Silva, are worse because they weren't present for the battle at all. Despite his generally arrogant demeanor, Nozel shows signs of caring and respecting those close to him. He declares that he will avenge Fuegoleon after the latter is gravely injured, and later mocks Fana's magic, implying that Fuegoleon's flames were far superior to his own. Although Nozel rarely shows much emotion, he can be surprisingly belligerent when upset. He displays open dislike for Yami Sukehiro and insults him on multiple occasions. He becomes annoyed when Yami and Asta exchange jokes about how he styles his hair and threatens them both. When Rill Boismortier does an impression of Fuegoleon to lighten the mood at the captains' meeting, Nozel is one of the captains who angrily tells him to leave. Nozel is not overly affectionate towards any of his siblings, but shows particular disdain for Noelle and blames her for their mother's death, though he later shows that his behavior towards his sister was borne of a desire to protect her, due to Noelle's strong resemblance to their deceased mother. Nozel also remains calm and collected during his fights, reassuring those around him; during the Eye of the Midnight Sun's attack, he told the civilians to stand behind him, showing great confidence in his fighting abilities.
