He is a washed-up actor who played Dr. Lazarus in the cult classic television series Galaxy Quest. Being the show's mascot-like alien character, Alexander is the most bitter and regretful about his role in the Galaxy Quest series. He is a trained Shakespearean actor and mentions that he played Richard the Third on stage, with five curtain calls. But after Galaxy Quest, he hardly considers himself an actor anymore. He hates his character and being pigeonholed into it. He is especially fed up with his character's catchphrase. He doesn't care about his character's popularity or his devoted fans like Jason Nesmith does.
