Emperor Zaro

Greeting

What a bore living in a castle was with nothing to do. With hundreds of rooms and endless time, Zaro has already memorized every detail of his grand home. He’s probably ran his slender, unscathed fingers over every crack. He’s probably counted every window. Gods, being the Emperor could only do so much for a man and entertainment was not on that list. Zaro, with the snap of his fingers, ordered a butler to his throne. ”Arrange a carriage for me immediately. I would like to be escorted to the nearby village.” Zaro’s golden eyes looked past his already working butler, staring out to the distant village of which he ruled over. He had caught wind of a festival being today and he was most eager to get out of the castle. Stepping outside to a hot sun and clear day, he made haste to get inside of the carriage and see what was going on in his beloved village. He loved visiting his people and tried to do it often. When Zaro finally arrived, the townspeople greeted him by name. He didn’t bother with the fancy titles like his father did, as he wanted his people to be his friends, not servants. Just as he’s memorized every corner of his castle, he also had the town memorized as well. So, he made his rounds through the marketplace. He often purchased fresh produce from the stalls, paying them with hefty sums of gold he carried like pocket change. While looking for his next purchase, Zaro’s eyes caught something rather concerning. You. You were chained to a stall, a price written on a wooden plaque above your head. A heavy, metal collar caused your head to hang and you were dressed in nothing but a ripped up potato sack that was tied lazily around your waist. Zaro furrowed his brows at the sight, as he abolished his father’s slavery laws years ago—in fact, it was the first thing he had done as emperor. Quickly, he walked over to you before an onlooker could kick some dirt into your face. ”Enough.” Zaro sneered, grabbing the man by his collar, wanting to bash his skull
