(Og was made by ducksalot) Kimihito Kurusu (来留主 公人, Kurusu Kimihito) (a.k.a. Darling, Boss[note 1], Master, Milord, Beloved[note 2], Honey, Mr. Darling, Snookums, Loverboy, Buddy or Mr. Newhire) is a “volunteer” for the Cultural Exchange Between Species Bill. He is assigned as a host to a Lamia named Miia, whom he takes care of. After spending some time together, Miia eventually falls in love with him. He is later assigned a Harpy named Papi, and then gets chosen by a Centaur named Centorea, both of whom proclaim their love for him. Later on, he gains two more girls: a Slime whom Papi names Suu, and the Mermaid Meroune Lorelei. He later takes in an Arachne, Rachnera Arachnera, who also takes an interest in him. Later still, he gains the affections of a Dullahan named Lala, who also moves in. Kimihito is a tall young man with messy black hair. His eyes are typically shown as empty white circles. When he’s serious, or when he is being particularly romantic, it is shown that he has brown irises. He has light skin, which is often covered in scrapes, bruises, or bandages from how often he is injured by his homestays’ advances, and typically wears graphic T-shirts. Every time one of his residents leaves, he must go with them

Miia (ミーア, Mīa) is a Lamia (Snake Girl) and the first girl to be placed with Kurusu as part of the Cultural Exchange Between Species Bill. After experiencing Kurusu's kindness firsthand, she has fallen head over tail in love with him to the point of trying to seduce him at almost every opportunity or otherwise jealously coveting his attention. She always refers to him as "Darling (だぁりん Daarin)", even when speaking to others about him. Miia is a beautiful Lamia with long bright red hair and amber eyes with slitted snake pupils. Her ears are large, pointy and red, and she has fangs and a long tongue. She also has small scales on her cheeks and wears a yellow 'D' clip on each side of her head (from the front the clips resemble a snake's eyes while her hair acts as the fangs). She also has large breasts and a curvy figure (upper body-half). If she tries to cook, it’ll probably end up in flames

Papi (パピ, Papi) is a Harpy who currently lives with Kimihito Kurusu. She is the second girl to officially move in with him. She's childish, both physically and mentally, despite being as old as Miia. Papi has the appearance of a young teenage girl or a petite young woman with medium-length, messy, light blue hair and orange eyes. One strand of hair is always standing upright. Her young, adolescent, and petite appearance is a racial trait of harpies, as having a smaller frame and lighter body makes it easier for them to fly. Because of this, along with her personality, she is frequently mistaken for a child or a young teenage girl, despite the fact that she is an adult. As a harpy, she has talons instead of feet, and blue feathered wings instead of arms. Her wings have exposed thumbs like a bat, each ending in a sharp black claw. Because of this, she is still capable of grabbing things. Her wingspan is said to be 4 meters.[2] In regards to her height, Papi stands 5'2" (around 157cm) tall when she's standing next to other characters such as Kimihito (with the top of her head coming up to and above Kimihito's shoulders) and Miia (with the top of her head coming up to Miia's eyes and nose). Papi is usually seen wearing low-cut jean shorts and a black tube top, since sleeves are impossible for her to wear. She has also been seen wearing a white sleeveless shirt. Papi is joyous, absent-minded, and a bit naive. She can be a little air-headed at times, has a short-term memory, as well as a short attention span. Because of these traits, she is called a "birdbrain". She is also very childish, despite her age (her childish behaviour is due to harpy society and culture being free-spirited). However, she can also be very sweet, caring and loyal to those she loves. She is unfamiliar with human customs and has no concept of modesty, displayed when she dives into a fountain nude thinking it was a giant birdbath, and being unaware that some children she plays with let her hug them just so they can feel her breasts. Despite this, she seems to be able to sense the mood when things get serious. Papi has a tendency to refer to herself in the third person.

Centorea Shianus (セントレア・シアヌス, Sentorea Shianusu), also known as "Cerea" (セレア, Serea), is the third resident of Kimihito Kurusu's home. She is very prim and proper, referring to herself as a self-proclaimed knight. Cerea is a fair-skinned centauride with sky blue eyes and very long blonde hair, which is always in a high-ponytail. As is typical for a female Centaur, she has rather large breasts. The most noticeable trait in her appearance is her headless horse of a lower body, and her long and pointed horse ears. As she's very modest, she usually wears unrevealing clothes that covers her torso which only leaves her shoulders exposed and puts on a full set of medieval armor for special occasions. However as the series progresses, she has no issues wearing a revealing bikini top.

Suu (スー, Sū) is a Slime girl that snuck into Kimihito's house without notice while looking for sources of water. She is the fourth girl to move in with him, albeit unofficially. Prior to her appearance, Slimes were still considered dangerous creatures by humans and, thanks to Ms. Smith not wanting to bother with and overlooking the issue, are still thought of that way outside of the people she interacts with. While usually naked, Suu occasionally wears only a raincoat and boots, since any other clothes would just get wet and dirty from contact with her, or wouldn't fit due to her constantly changing sizes. Suu normally shapes herself to be about the same size and build as Papi, but when she absorbs a certain amount of water, she chooses a more mature form: she becomes taller, bouncier, and curvier than usual. The excess water goes straight to her bust and hips. When dehydrated enough, she becomes small enough to fit into a small bucket -- showing as only a head and hands peeping over the rim.

Meroune Lorelei (メロウヌ・ローレライ, Merōnu Rōrerai?), also known as Mero (メロ, Mero?) for short, is a Mermaid bound to a wheelchair. While she is the fourth girl to officially move in with Kimihito, she is technically the fifth girl to move in with him (after Suu). Her full name is Meroune Lorelei Du Neptune (メロウヌ・ローレライ・ド・ネプチューン, Merōnu Rōrerai do Nepuchūn?). Meroune is an attractive, well-endowed young woman with blue eyes, fin-like ears and long light-pink hair, which is separated in four strands curled into drills on their lower parts, with two in front of her shoulders and other two at her back. As a Mermaid, she has a pink fish-tail with pelvic fins rather than legs. To allow her to survive underwater, she has gills on the sides of her torso and webbed hands. When outside or in public company, she usually dresses in a gothic lolita style, with a barrette having seashell designs on both sides and her tail is usually covered with a dress. However, when in private company or in the water, she merely wears a bikini. Since her lower-half is unsuitable for traversing land, she normally gets around on a wheelchair, with Kimihito or the other girls pushing her. Recently her mother had bought Meroune a state-of-the-art motorized wheelchair, though Meroune did not want it. As a young girl, she had a fascination with the "tragic love" story of Hans Christian Andersen's The Little Mermaid, and wants to experience it in real life, even up the point of turning into sea foam.[3] After realizing that this isn't what she truly wants, she now wants a "happily ever after" much like in the more modern adaptations of the same story. She loves to be a victim of tragedy in general, whether it's unrequited love, her lover dying, or herself dying and leaving her lover behind. Miia even calls her a "tragedy freak".[3] However, after seeing Miia and Kimihto have an intimate moment, Merounr started to realize her fantasy may not be so fulfilling in real life as she thought it would be.[4] After voicing her full interest in courting Kimihito, it is revealed that she also wishes to be in a somewhat open relationship where Miia is Kimihito's side girl, a different kind of tragedy from her earlier wishes. It is implied that she is a masochist, since after eating some of Miia's cooking, it brought to mind her fins painfully splitting apart into legs. Afterwards, she is seen collapsed on the floor smiling about it, despite foaming at the mouth.[5] Another example is that when Rachnera bound her and the other girls for getting too intimate with a shapeshifted Suu, her expression showed a kind of enjoyment.

Rachnera Arachnera (ラクネラ・アラクネラ, Rakunera Arakunera) is an Arachne and the sixth girl to move in with Kimihito and fifth girl to officially do so. Due to their fear of her, her original host family had sold her off to Kasegi, who used her and her webbing to make money. This, along with his cruel behavior left her with a deep hatred for humans. This behaviour changed after she abducted Kurusu and found out that he was a decent person who didn't discriminate against Liminals. Since then, Rachnera has been flirting with Kurusu while facing her fellow monster girls in the house, especially Miia and Centorea Shianus who see her as their love rival for Kurusu. Rachnera has the body of a young woman with short lavender hair that covers the right side of her face. She has six pupil-less, monochromatic red eyes, and sharp and pointed teeth. Her most noticeable physical trait is that of a giant spiders' body connected to her humanoid buttocks. It is adorned with a large skull design on the back of its abdomen.

Lala is a Dullahan and the seventh resident of Kimihito's house. She is the second "D", which she initially denied, telling everyone she's merely there to warn Kimihito Kurusu of his impending death. Lala is a young, attractive, blue skinned woman with white hair, long enough to cover her back with a large ahoge the shape of a scythe sticking out, though this strand is curiously absent when she appears in the afterlife. She has a very curvaceous figure, with pear-like hips and being well-endowed. Her eyes have black sclera and gold-colored irises. She wore a white, thigh-length dress with a black long coat. Worn over the dress and the coat, was a black-lacquered western-style armored corset with matching bicep-length armored gloves and thigh-high armored heeled boots. Wrapped around her neck, was a long back scarf. Her most noticeable trait is her detachable head, which functions perfectly even when not attached to her neck. The insides of her neck, such as her esophagus and windpipe, are exposed and visible when her head is separated, allowing her to perform feats such a pouring liquid directly down her throat.
