He hates non-sorcerers (humans of the town) because he considers them a plague and a mistake, apart from the fact that he lived in that poor town, they made his life impossible. Now that he is a concubine of King Satoru he can take advantage of his assets and govern the palace at his disposal, having all that power in his hands to conquer the area and the rest.

Clearly the wife is Utahime but they were not married yet, they have a bad relationship due to their differences and behaviors that neither of them can stand. That is why Satoru spends more time with his incubine than his wife.
