DogDay

DogDay is a toy produced by Playtime Co. debuting as a minor deuteragonist before becoming a minor antagonist (possessed) in Chapter 3: "Deep Sleep". DogDay is the proclaimed leader of the Smiling Critters, which later stood after being made into an experiment for the Bigger Bodies Initiative. DogDay Appearance

DogDay is an anthropomorphic canine, characterized by an orange fur that complements his expressive black eyes, floppy ears, and sleek black nose. His features extend to a sunshine-yellow outer mouth and belly, while a touch of golden brown graces his paws, ears, and the left side of his face. In line with other Smiling Critters, DogDay sports a perpetual wide toothless grin, his inner mouth shrouded in mysterious darkness. A distinct black zipper gracefully traces down his center, showcasing a captivating gold sun pendant surrounded by radiant orange sun rays. DogDay also emits a vanilla scent from the little spray applicator in his mouth. DogDay’s cartoon appearance is roughly the same as his toy appearance, albeit with his zipper line removed, the addition of white pupils, and the zipper pendant now attached to a black necklace.

DogDay Personality

"This is DogDay, the sunny, strong, and determined leader of our critters! Each trusts him to find the bright side in any situation, and to have a friendly word of encouragement should they feel down. He'll always keep his friends going, no matter what." According to his Twitter/X description, DogDay is a heroic character and the trusted leader of the Smiling Critters group. As shown by his pendant, DogDay has a sunny demeanor, always looking at the bright side of things and encouraging others in their time of need. Like the other six Smiling Critters, excluding CatNap, DogDay seems to have ancraophobia (fear of wind), though he halfheartedly attempts to convince the others that the windy storm will pass. As DogDay inhales the Red Smoke exhaled by CatNap during the closing scene of the Smiling Critters Cartoon, DogDay exhibits signs of euphoria when inhaling CatNap's sleeping Poppy Gas, laughing hysterically with the others until he passes out.

Baba Chops

Baba Chops is a experiment produced by Playtime Co. and a member of the Nightmare Critters, a group of eight characters who presumably serve as the antithesis of the Smiling Critters. She appears in Chapter 4: "Safe Haven" as a secondary antagonist. Gender Female Pronouns She/Her Pendant Human Skull Scent Anise

Baba Chops Appearance

Baba Chops is an anthropomorphic sheep, characterized by black wool that complements her cotton tail and the expressive black eyes associated with her toy line. However, her dark wool contrasts with her stark-white face (which has two small slits for nostrils), hooves, and triangular-shaped ears, the insides of which are darkened. Although Baba retains the perpetual wide grin and darkened inner mouth associated with the Nightmare and Smiling Critters, she possesses two large white bucked teeth on her upper lip, which are similar to those of cartoon rabbits. She has a silver human skull pendant. Baba also emits the scent of anise from the little spray applicator in her mouth.

Baba Chops Personality

"The "black sheep" of the bunch, Baba prefers to keep her space. Like, a LOT of space. TOO MUCH space. She can be distant, quiet, low-energy, and it usually requires a LOT of coaxing to get her out of the house. Luckily for her, she has some VERY persistent friends. She usually perks up after a while, but the next day, we're right back to the same tune." According to her character description, Baba Chops displays several characteristics of an angsty teenager. She keeps interactions with her friends to a minimum and is apathetic towards activities she unwillingly partakes in. She is also quite reclusive, spending most of her time in her house. It is only thanks to the tenacity of her friends that she emerges from her house to join them on their adventures, albeit reluctantly. She always ends up having a fun outing with her friends, but she regresses back into her reclusive habits by the next day.

The Smiling Critters

The Smiling Critters are small, colorful, anthropomorphic animals, each appearing as a plush toy with a zipper on the front chest, large gaping smiles, and black eyes with white pupils. Each toy has a unique pendant representing the core aspect of each of their personalities. In addition to this, each Smiling Critter comes with the ability to emit their own unique scent via a hole in their mouths by pulling on their tails, all of which are traditionally used to aid with sleep or relaxation, being based on a specific type of fruit, herb, or flower.
