appearance and personality

Hanako has pale skin, a slim build, and her hair is black with a messy cut and her eyes are honey-colored. He also has some "Haku Joudai" accompanying him. He wears an old-fashioned Japanese school uniform that is almost entirely black except for red, white, and gold details. Additionally, on his left cheek he has a white paper with the kanji for '封' in red glued to it. He also wears a black gakuran with gold buttons, a white collar, and red hems, black shoes, and red socks. He also has a black hat that has a white bottom, a gold emblem, and red stripes along the front seam to match his uniform. On her left cheek, Hanako bears a white seal with a red kanji for 封 (Seal) written on it. Personality Normally Hanako is cheerful, optimistic, self-confident and somewhat perverted, but he can also be threatening and terrifying in any situation he doesn't like, although these tense moments always end with a smile from him as if nothing had happened. He likes to keep things calm and tends to stop any conflict that has to do with ghosts or people who relate to him, because that is his job and obligation. He tends to joke around constantly and it's hard to tell when he's telling the truth and when he's not, but he's still a reliable person who will feign disinterest while secretly doing everything he can to help. On the contrary, when we are introduced to Yugi Amane, he is shown as a terrified, weak, shy child who is easily embarrassed but who forces a smile so that people do not worry about him. Amane blames himself for the things that happen to him and forgives without rancor whoever is the cause of all his injuries. With this we are given to understand that Hanako's personality is simply a mask that hides the real Yugi Amane, which comes to the surface when he is with Tsuka.

Hanako belongs to the seven school mysteries, being number seven and the most popular among them, having the name "Hanako-san of the bathroom" and therefore also having her own rumor, which says that Hanako lives in the third stall of the girls' bathroom on the third floor of the old building and that she will grant wishes to anyone who summons her but in return she will get something precious from that person. It should be noted that in these rumors it is mentioned that Hanako is a woman. Being the most popular among them is not the only thing that makes him stand out, as he also plays the role of leader or boss among the mysteries, who obey him as such. He is in charge of getting rid of evil apparitions and that peace is always present between the specters and humans, meaning that any problem that there is he will solve it regardless of the cost, because if necessary he will eliminate those he considers a nuisance, According to words said by himself, this duty and position was given to him by God, who gave him this second chance so that he can free himself from any guilt by purifying his sin in order to one day rest in peace, Yugi Amane died at the age of 13 in the 60s and his reason for death is still unknown, although certain attitudes of his give rise to think that it was a suicide, Yashiro invokes him to help her with her love problem but after certain circumstances he ends up being her assistant. Yashiro became her first friend but little by little that image was fading and by the time she realized she meant much more than a simple friend. Despite knowing the tragic fate that awaited Yashiro, he found it impossible not to become fond of her, and that is why he now tries in every possible way to make sure she continues to live; he wants to give her a long future.

Hanako tends to flirt a lot with her and doesn't mind getting closer to her to the point of constantly hugging her or having minimal contact whenever she can; but when it's Yashiro who makes the first move Hanako is shown to be embarrassed, blushing and shy at her sudden actions. This can be seen in the times Yashiro mentions that he likes Hanako or when she kisses him on the cheek telling him to take that as an amulet of strength. He is jealous when someone gets too close to him or it is mentioned that someone likes her, this is shown when he is affected by the closeness between Kou and Yashiro so he gets in between them and then hugs her protectively or when Akane mentions that Kou likes Yashiro, but before he could finish the sentence Hanako angrily silences him. Also, during Chapter 62 of the manga, it could be seen how he interrupts Akane and Yashiro after the latter first threatens to kiss her. She is the only one, apart from Tsukasa, who can bring out Hanako's true personality. Furthermore, it is enough to say that Yashiro tells Aoi in chapter 12 of the anime that he fell in love with an apparition and almost at the end we are shown that Hanako already knew it, since she tells the mermaid's servants that Yashiro likes him, which gives more and more indications that she will become his girlfriend.

Minamoto Kou

They met when Kou tried to exorcise him, but that failed completely because Hanako was too strong for him. Even so, he gave him strength, assuring him that one day he will become a great exorcist and that he will be eagerly waiting for that day to come. Kou's perspective towards Hanako changed during the Misaki Stairs Arc, where he convinced himself that Hanako was not an evil spectre despite her constantly angering him. Their relationship was further strengthened when Kou went against his brother, Minamoto Teru, in order to save Hanako from being exorcised by him. Both Hanako and Kou place a great deal of trust in each other and create a relationship in which they tease each other, play, and have fun. They are love rivals, in fact Hanako tends to feel jealous of him every time he gets closer to Yashiro or sees that they are spending time together, to the point of interfering or interrupting any scene between the two. In the False World Arc, Hanako and Kou clash over their different ways of wanting to save Yashiro, with Hanako being the one to reproach him for not doing anything to help despite having promised, while Kou is completely against staying in that world created by Mei. This was the only time they both argued in that way, after which everything went back to how it was before.

yugi tsukasa

when they were alive, apart from the small clues that both brothers drop; until now the reason for their actions has not been mentioned and Hanako's attitudes suggest that he is truly afraid of his brother, who far from being scared of his murderer, is the one who approaches and intimidates his brother claiming that he loves him. Tsukasa has a toxic love for his brother, because every time they meet he doesn't hesitate to approach him and terrorize him with his innocent but sickly smile. According to statements from a little Hanako, Tsukasa becomes violent when he doesn't get what he wants or when he can't do what he wants, so it's not surprising that he's afraid of him. Still, during the False World Arc, where all the specters had to act as if they were alive, both Hanako and Tsukasa behaved as if they had the typical relationship between siblings, where the younger brother constantly follows the older one with admiration and clings to him in an annoying way. Tsukasa hugs him whenever he can and shows to have the same interest in astronomy as his brother but with much less interest due to his childish and absent-minded personality, while Hanako was shown to be more mature trying to reassure him and calmly push him away. Tsukasa shows no resentment towards Hanako, in fact it's quite the opposite, Tsukasa is the one who says he loves the face Hanako made when he killed him, implying that perhaps he was the one who incited him to commit such an act.

tsuchigomori

He was her teacher before his death and the only one she got along with at school, because despite being a boy without friends, he spent time with Tsuchigomori after school, while the latter healed her wounds and reproached her for her lack of interest in class. Tsuchigomori knew what the future held for Hanako so her show of concern towards him was only feigned, because he was sure that no matter what he said, Hanako would end up fulfilling her dream and working by his side. The trust and attachment that Hanako feels for him is strengthened when she decides to give him her moon rock, which in the future would become Tsuchigomori's Yorishiro, that is, her most valuable treasure. On the other hand, Tsuchigomori is happy to see Hanako spending time with Kou and Yashiro, as the lonely boy finally got two friends who care about him. But he also mourns her passing, claiming that it was such a short life to end like that.

dawn

Amane was a child fascinated by astronomy and his most precious dream was to become an astronaut to one day be able to go to the moon, but his dreams were frustrated by certain things that were not going well in his life, things that are still unknown. The times that Hanako is shown in life he is always beaten, crying or with his things destroyed and it is Amane himself who refuses to say the name of the culprit of these acts, even so he clarifies that he forgives that person, after all he is the only one to blame for everything. He was a lonely boy with no friends and he constantly skipped classes. He had a small rock that he adored, as he claimed that it came from the moon and he even considered it as his own treasure because he felt that with it he could go wherever he wanted; however, he ended up giving it to Tsuchigomori, his tutor, assuring that he no longer needed it, as he did not plan to go anywhere ever again. According to his book belonging to the 16:00 o'clock library, Amane was going to become a science teacher and work at the school where the story is set, but he changed all that by becoming the only human who could go against his already written destiny that is supposed to be inevitable. Much of the information about his parents is unknown to date, such as their names or jobs, although they have been seen in volumes 16 and 17.
